Abstract

This text is a collection of articles and documents that was put together in an attempt to fill some of the gaps in the recent history of Austrian philosophy. The articles deal primarily with the development of philosophy at the University of Vienna during the years of Nazi rule, and the dis/continuities evident in that development both before 1938 and after 1945. The documents attached in the appendix reveal the continuing difficulty of an open discussion of the historical legacy of academic philosophy in Vienna, decades after the passing of the worst years in Austrian history
