Pre-AP English 10 17 February 2009 Human Nature According to Golding, Freud, and Katrina In his novel Lord of the Flies, William Golding examines the relationship between civilization and savagery by illustrating how society's mores lose their hold when people are reduced to basic survival. His characters represent different facets of human nature, including peace, logic, violence, and power, but eventually they succumb to the selfish, power-driven aspect of their personalities [Book Review]
