Populism, Anger, Left Wing. Against The Neoliberal Hegemony

Abstract
The paper addresses the problem of populism and social anger. The author describes the phenomenon of populism and social anger by referring to Ernesto Laclau’s, Chantal Mouffe’s and David Ost’s thought. The trajectory of Laclau’s theorizations of populism shows that it is not only a form of aggregation of social demands, but also a political discourse which constitutes every kind of social order. In reference to the populist discourse of the second „Solidarity”, David Ost argues that social anger in post-communist countries is primarily an effect of neoliberal economic model and can be organized around non-economical problems and social identities. Also, the context of populism sets the background against which the author of the article tries to consider the problem of the left-wing political discourse and democracy
