Abstract

This brief essay reflects upon the dialogue between poetry and philosophy starting with their common relation with life, but favouring poetry as a speculum where thought and existence confront each other, changing into metaphorical language. While poetry expresses thought as shape –using tools as rhythm, measure, music–, philosophy expresses shape as thought – using the tools of question and research –. Therefore poetry and philosophy, greeting life and thinking about it, are both testing the limit, which is called silence in poetry and enigma in philosophy
