Abstract

Not long ago, I read an article in which I was condemned: "She really could have become a successful writer. After all, she did not meet her first capitalist until the age of 35!" This is indeed true. After attending an elementary boarding school for the offspring of high-level cadres, I entered a military academy. After that, I was assigned to work at a top-secret research institute and with the intelligence arm of the headquarters of the General Staff of the People's Liberation Army. Both jobs required a proper "political background."
