Abstract

Orphic myth, in its narrative, called the separation of two parts in the human being body and soul. In exploring Orphic myth I saw parallels with Christian narrative. Paul Ricoeur's hermeneutical analysis of the dualism in Christianity convinced me to use his method to explore the dualism in Orphism. The thesis of this work is that the experience of unity underlies the text of both the Christian narrative and the Orphic mysteries
