L’obiettivo del paper è di esaminare il concetto di immagine d’archivio nell’era della cultura partecipativa. Il testo discute due diverse definizioni di immagine d’archivio: a) l’immagine d’archivio è un documento conservato da una istituzione b) l’immagine d’archivio è il risultato di processo elaborativo di appropriazione e ricollocazione, che avviene solitamente nell’ambito artistico o cinematografico e che produce un effetto sullo spettatore che riconoscerà l’immagine come tale. A partire da queste due possibili definizioni si possono identificare le (...) caratteristiche tecniche ed estetiche dell’immagine d’archivio nell’ambito della configurazione mediale contemporanea. Nella parte finale vengono presentate ed esaminate due opere dell’artista americana Natalie Bookchin, in quanto esempi di forme di elaborazione dell’immagine d’archivio basate sulle pratiche mediali contemporanee. L’intento di questo contributo è accennare a come la considerazione dell’influenza esercitata da Spinoza sul pensiero di Sini rappresenti un punto di partenza privilegiato per intendere la concezione che quest’ultimo ha della pratica filosofica. A partire dalla lettura siniana dell’ Etica, per come è svolta all’interno di Archivio Spinoza. La verità e la vita, vengono toccati temi quali l’esercizio filosofico, il «limite» e la «logica del finito», il rapporto tra soggetto e oggetto e, soprattutto, il nucleo etico della filosofia.

The present article offers a description and an analysis of the Liber Graecus, a manuscript register from Venice State Archive containing copies and translations of the documents sent from the Ottoman sultans to Venice between 1479 and 1504. Almost all the documents are in Greek, which until Bayazid II’s reign was the language used by the Ottomans in diplomatic communications with Western powers. Thanks to Liber Graecus not only we have a detailed account of Venetian-Ottoman relationships at the turn of (...) the 16th century, but also we learn more about the activity of the Venetian chancery and the role played by Greek scribes working there. This paper explores the possibility of applying the theory of Documentality to the photograph, examining it in the context of the photo archive. To this end, I maintain that a photograph’s document value is not determined by its nature, but by its relationship to inscription practices. And I regard the space of the archive as a paradigmatic device that produces cognitive strategies on the word pairing “photograph/photographs” inextricably linked to the inscriptions connected with it, in the form of “archiwritings” and (...) registrations, in essence: with the words of the archive itself. The theme running through these cooperative studies is the relation between automated fields of communication and control, and the various strata of human behavior. The question of the stratification of behavior is beginning to receive serious attention from the standpoints of ecology and cybernetics. One can only welcome the explorations of this imaginative group of authors in areas as promising as those of form, information, and life ; communication, information, and poetic language ; the role of information in the human (...) sciences ; physics and information ; and knowledge and information.
