Članak predstavlja komentarski prikaz glavnih tema knjige Wu Xiaominga, Filozofija i Zhexue. Usporedno s glavnim tekstom, u (...) pratećem aparatu, članak donosi pregled i komentare novije, interdisciplinarne literature, zapadne i kineske, o tematici komparativizma i njegovim osnovama u filozofiji, humanističkim i egzaktnim znanostima. The article gives a detailed review and commentary on the main topics in the book Philosophy and Zhexue. The Way To the Other and Back by Wu Xiaoming and a discussion about the very notion of the so-called ‘other’, non-European philosophy, its systematic place between history of philosophy, cultural anthropology and post-colonial discourse theory. The effort by Xiaoming to revolutionize, by means of Derridean différance and Chinese dao, the hierarchical pattern in the relation between the interpreting and the interpreted intellectual heritage has been estimated as genuinelly philosophical and different from cultural anthropological approaches, which is even contrary to late Derrida’s denial of Chinese philosophy. Parallel to the discussion in the main text, the article provides a survey with commentaries of recent cross-disciplinary publications, both Western and Chinese, in related issues such as comparativism in philosophy, in human and exact sciences, including Chinese authors. Habermas, one of the most outstanding philosophers of our time. Some limitations in his philosophy appear in his utterances on the problems of man related to the possibilities offered by the recent achievements in genetics. As a philosopher he seems to be very distant from the reality of human existence. He proposes to cultivate a pure philosophy, striving first of all to ensure a universality for its solutions. This way he narrows the tasks confronting modern philosophy; besides, he wants to answer the questions concerning the humankind in a way valid for all times, making absolute the legal and constitutional frame being now in force. Following Ricoeur and referring to some contemporary phenomenological studies I demonstrate—perhaps differently than others do—that Husserl’s phenomenological undertaking has also hermeneutic aspects. With Husserl, we are in a meaningful world which reveals its sense in intentional acts. The interpretation of senses can be treated as experiencing them. In particular, I examine the peculiar hermeneutics of affectiveness and sensation, i.e. the hermeneutics that is broadly understood as a project of demonstrating the origin of meaning. This project reaches the difference founding all (...) the articulations of meaning rather than some aprioric basis of understanding. The difference is a source that flows in experience of sense, even in their mature culturally articulatedforms, which are, however, forever permeated by sensation and the affective. (shrink)
This article critically analyses Berdiaev’s philosophy of creativity in integrity of his philosophical thought, with special emphasis on relation between creativity and freedom. The author begins his investigation with introduction in existentiality of Berdiaev’s analysis of the topic andwith explanation of fundamental concepts. Then follows investigation of metaphysical-anthropological foundations of human ability for genuine creativity. To avoid misunderstandings concerning nature of human creativity from ‘meonic freedom’, essential difference between humanand God’s creativity is explained. The article also analyses theurgy as specific form of humancreativity and a way to surpass tragedy of creativity. Structure of man’s creativity is criticallyanalysed as relation between man the creator and the world. Finally, it is offered a groundworkfor one future philosophy of man based on the idea of creativity. (shrink)
Tekst prikazuje i komentira zbornik od deset priloga kulturno studijskih, semioloških i etnografskih analiza posvećenih različitiim oblicima i razinama diskurzivne reprezentacije i reprodukcije stvarnosti »domaćeg« socijalističkog načina života u bivšoj Jugoslaviji i Hrvatskoj, u njegovim različitim historijskim fazama, u njegovim službenim i neslužbenim oblicima diskurzivnih procedura . Pored uvodne usporedbe s tematski ili metodološki sličnim publikacijama, tekst daje tematski i tipski pregled obuhvaćenih priloga, a opširno se komentiraju dva priloga: programski tekst zbornika, posvećen ideji etnografije socijalizma u odnosu na nasljeđe (...) etnologije, s obzirom na njegove eksplicitne i implicitne znanstveno teorijske pretpostavke; također se s obzirom na teorem arbitrarnosti znaka komentira prilog posvećen retoričkoj analizi diskursa tzv. liberalne političke disidencije socijalizma u Beogradu 80-ih godina, posvećen dokazivanju odgovornosti inteligencije za društvenu katastrofu bivše Jugoslavije kroz analizu veze između »riječi i činova«.The paper reviews and comments on an anthology of ten analyses of cultural studies, semiology and ethnography, all centring on the different forms and levels of discursive representation and reproduction of the reality of the »domestic« socialist way of life both in former Yugoslavia and Croatia, in its most diverse historical phases, in its both official and unofficial forms of discursive procedures . In addition to the introductory comparison with thematically or methodologically similar publications, the paper also reviews the themes and types of the contributions, while particularly focusing on two papers: the anthology’s programmatic text tackling the idea of socialism’s ethnography in relation to the legacy of ethnology, in respect of its both explicit and implicit scientific theoretical presuppositions. Furthermore, in respect of the theorem of the arbitrariness of signs, the paper also comments on the contribution dealing with the rhetorical analysis of the discourse of the so-called liberal political dissidence of socialism in Belgrade during the 1980s, proving the responsibility of intelligence for the social catastrophe of former Yugoslavia through the analysis of the relation between »words and deeds«. The text deals with the recently renewed issue of?antiphilosophy? in the self-understanding of some prominent contemporary continental philosophers but not only them, such as Alain Badiou and Slavoj Zizek, both referring to the psychoanalyst and theoretician of discourse Jacques Lacan. Starting with a metaphorical analysis of the verdict made by Marx of?merely interpretive? character of philosophy in relation to?the study of real world? and with his comparison of philosophy with?masturbation?, the text addresses new appeals to?antiphilosophy? as samples of a token (...) or rather, as cases of a syndrome connected with Jocasta?s rationalization of Oedipus? curse. It was her discourse based on general rules of rationality with which she unconsciously attempted to avoid the confrontation with the truth of an event which had already occurred. In the text, presuppositions and consequences of such an analogy between ancient and contemporary philosophical material are discussed in order to show-on the basis of arguing that the unconscious is located within rational processes that subjects undertake in order to respond to rational needs -that contemporary discussion about?antiphilosophy? by left-wing philosophers bears unacknowledged tendencies to unconsciously reduce Marx? algorithm of?realization of philosophy? to the Hegelian negation of the negation and to integrate it into the discourse of academic philosophy. Dealing with the presumed universality of metaphor and its role in the discourse of philosophy and science, the article discusses, in the first part, the theses on metaphor as?all pervading means? of language and thought, raised by romantic and post-romantic philosophers of language, and its impact on the meta-discourse on philosophy and science in recent contemporary contributions by epistemologists of science and language philosophers. The aim of the article is to show, on one side, that this universalisation of metaphor has (...) been operative in the recent philosophy rather as a tacit confusion of metaphors with models and analogies than as elaboration of the presumed constitutive role of the so-called genuin metaphor in the rational discourse. On this ground, the article tries to provide, in the second and the third part, additonal and different arguments than those raised by?friends of metaphor? for locating the presumed?irrationality? of metaphor so as to reexamine the relevance of the difference between the literality of the underlying linguistic functions and the emphatic assertion by metaphorical expressions. As a result, in the fourth part, a different model has been suggested for estimating metaphors as universal, legitimate, and epistemically innovative in the rational discourse of philosophy and science. Such a view allows for conceiving of the presumed?all-pervading? character of transference in language and thought as based on the universality of linguistic functions and yet enables to consider metaphors as what they actually are - a particular, but peculiar, intralinguistic phenomenon without which no insight into the differential and material character of language and speech seems to be possible at all. Prilog ispituje pretpostavku o univerzalnosti metafore i njenu ulogu u diksursu filozofije i nauke. The article discusses the relation between the paradigmatic status of film and use of film analogies in the psychoanalytic discourse on society and culture by Slavoj Zizek, which represents the very ground of his philosophical discourse in general. In the first part, starting with a recent discussion by different English and American scholars on controversial aspects of Slavoj Zizek?s activity in academia and on a broader public scene, the paper discusses on some parallel examples and inherent motivators of the form-content (...) controversy in philosophy and pop-culture as well as Zizek?s interpretation of his position. In the second part, the article discusses Zizek?s sporadic meta-reflection on exemplification and provides arguments for the thesis that, in Zizek, on the ground of his ontology of the virtual, one encounters a double conception of?inherence? between instance and principle, its consequence is a shift in the use of film examples from analogy of objects to analogy of analyses, which invents a typical conflict between the metonymic and metaphorical evasion of discourse. On this background, the article reexamines the general contention against Zizek of a?virtual totalitarianism? without contingency of meaning and sense, and points to the position of the subject without discourse as another ground for the condition of analysis of truth. In the third part, the paper analyses and evaluates Zizek?s own understanding of his cinematographic illustrations and his peculiar, performing and self-referential, method of resolving the epistemological problem of film interpretation through imaginary identification or?empathy? with film objects. In the fourth part, the paper discusses the apparent asymmetry between Zizek?s application of psychoanalytic doctrines onto film criticism, on one side, and, on the other, his little elaborated apotheosis of so-called?cinematic materialism?. It is argued that this asymmetry ultimately causes what Zizek rejects in principle: a substitution of materialism and contingency of truth-search for a holism of sense. Consequently this seems to turn the psychoanalytic discourse on cinematography into a hermeneutic one. Clanak raspravlja o odnosu izmedju paradigmatskog statusa filma i upotrebe filmskih analogija u psihoanalitickom diskursu filozofije Slavoja Zizeka koji cini temelj njegovog kritickog diskursa o drustvu i kulturi uopce. U cetvrtom dijelu analizira se ocigledni nesrazmjer izmedju Zizekove primjene doktrinarnih zaliha psihoanalize u kritici kinematografije, s jedne strane, i njegove teorijski oskudno razradjene apoteoze?kinematickog materijalizma?. On the basis of selected examples of average lay as well as professional and theoretical discourses on the media phenomenon and the very notion of media, the author seeks to identify moments conducive to constructing a model for media analysis of a social-theoretical bent, and both structural-semiotic and substantive-critical in character. The analysis refers to the media in both the strict and the expanded meaning of the term - as technical devices and semiotic objects, such as discourses of ideology, science (...) and literature. In the first section, almost entirely devoted to Marshall McLuhan?s brief and legendary text? The Medium Is the Message?, his basic thesis is put under a discursive-logical analysis of the text and reverted into the seemingly diametrically opposed form,?The Message Is the Medium?, whose further interpretive possibilities are then explored. In the second section McLuhan?s?integral? approach to media analysis, as a particular theory, is examined by placing it in the discursive context along with the?End of Ideology? thesis from the 1960s and instances of humanistic-scientific discourse on non-technological media forms. The aim of the discussion is to relocate the phenomenon of conceptual regression in discourses presupposing absolute innovativeness and progressiveness of their media form. The result of the inquiry shows that regressive ness lies in the?progressive? media form itself, that is, in the very conceptions of the form. (shrink)
