We analyze a recent trend in epistemic logic which consists in studying construction of knowledge from the agents’ observational abilities. It is based on the intuition that an agent’s knowledge comes from three possible sources: her observations, communication with other agents, and inference. The approaches mainly focus on the former two and suppose that the object of observations are propositional variables and that agents learn from public announcements. This allows to model knowledge in a more compact and intuitive way than (...) with Hintikka’s semantics. However, the semantics that one can find in the literature come with some counter-intuitive validities such as common knowledge of visibilities or the knowledge operator distributing over disjunctions. We propose a solution of each of these two issues and illustrate them with well-known toy examples of epistemic logic. (shrink)

Στό άρθρο αὐτό παρουσιάζονται δέκα πέντε ἑλληνικά ἀγγεῖα της συλλογῆς Πιερίδη (βλ. BCH 1971) : ἕνας μικύλλος κορινθιακός σκύφος τοῦ 6ου αἰώνα, τρία μεγάλα μελανόμορφα ἀττικά ἀγγεία τοῦ τέλους τοῦ 6ου ἤ τῶν ἀρχῶν τοῦ 5ου αἰώνα (ἕνας ἀμφορέας μέ φαρδειά κοιλιά καί παράσταση θεοτήτων, μεταξύ τῶν ὁποιων ὁ Διόνυσος μέ τό θίασο του · ἕνας ἀμφορέας μέ λαιμό πού φέρει στή μία πλευρά διονυσιακή σκηνή, καί στην άλλη δύο οπλίτες καί έναν τοξότη Σκύθη * μία πελίκη μέ τό Θησέα (...) καί τό Μινώταυρο καί στις δύο πλευρές), δέκα μικρά αττικά αγγεία του 5ου καί 4ου αιώνα, άλλα ἐρυθρόμορφα (ἕνας σκύφος μέ γλαῦκές, δύο ἀσκοί διακοσμημένοι μέ ζῶα, μία πυξίδα τύπου D μέ κάλυμμα κοσμημένο μέ καθιστό νέο ἄνδρα, καί μία ἀρυβαλλοειδή λύκηθο μέ ἀνθέμιο), ἄλλα μέ μαῦρο γάνωμα (μία ἄωτη κύλικα, μία χαμηλή κύλικα μέ μία μόνο λαβή, ἔνα κύπελλο μέ ἔντυπη διακόσμηση καί δύο κυαθίσκους), τέλος ἕναν ἐλληνιστικό ἀμφορέα μέ διακόσμηση τύπου « west slope ». Les travaux et publications récents concernant le très abondant matériel de l’Artémision de Thasos permettent de proposer une première vue d’ensemble. Nous sommes ici dans une situation privilégiée puisque nous savons par les sources écrites qu’il s’agit d’un sanctuaire consacré à Artémis. Le matériel votif du sanctuaire permet-il alors de dégager un aspect particulier de la personnalité d’Artémis à Thasos ? Si quelques offrandes sont clairement le signe d’une dévotion de jeunes filles et de femmes ou sont directement à mettre (...) en relation avec les attributions d’Artémis, force est de constater, à ce point d’avancée des recherches, l’absence d’offrandes vraiment originales, et en particulier le nombre très réduit de représentations de la déesse dans son sanctuaire, ce qui ne permet guère de déterminer une fonction précise de celle-ci à Thasos. Recent research and publications on the very numerous votive offerings found in the Thasian Artemision allow us to provide a preliminary overview. The context is favourable, since written evidence informs us that this sanctuary was dedicated to Artemis. Do the offerings found in the sanctuary allow us to point out a particular aspect of the Artemis’ personality in Thasos? Some offerings clearly indicate that girls and women worshipped the goddess, or else they can be directly related to Artemis’ prerogatives. However, we can infer from current investigation that no truly original offerings are attested and that the goddess herself is very rarely represented on offerings in her shrine. Thus this evidence does not allow us to define a precise function of Artemis in Thasos. (shrink)

Nous partons de cette diversité pour nous focaliser sur les rationalités qui sont à l'oeuvre en Afrique subsaharienne, en nous inspirant en grande partie du paradigme congolais, afin d'amener à un sursaut africain. En effet, le peuple africain apparaît aujourd'hui comme le grand absent de la scène scientifique et technologique. Cependant, en scrutant son histoire, il s'avère qu'il y a beaucoup d'indices de rationalité tant théoriques que (...) pratiques. Celle-ci est illustrée entre autres par la créativité, aujourd'hui en perte de vitesse voire simplement éteinte.
