The Unity of Form and Content: The Philosophical Patterns of the Great Commentary to the Book of Changes.

Imaging Oxygen Distribution in Marine Sediments. The Importance of Bioturbation and Sediment Heterogeneity.L. Pischedda, J. C. Poggiale, P. Cuny & F. Gilbert - 2008 - Acta Biotheoretica 56 (1-2):123-135.
The influence of sediment oxygen heterogeneity, due to bioturbation, on diffusive oxygen flux was investigated. Laboratory experiments were carried out with 3 macrobenthic species presenting different bioturbation behaviour patterns: the polychaetes Nereis diversicolor and Nereis virens, both constructing ventilated galleries in the sediment column, and the gastropod Cyclope neritea, a burrowing species which does not build any structure. Oxygen two-dimensional distribution in sediments was quantified by means of the optical planar optode technique. Diffusive oxygen fluxes and a variability index were (...)

Translating land justice through comparison: a US–French dialogue and research agenda.Megan Horst, Nathan McClintock, Adrien Baysse-Lainé, Ségolène Darly, Flaminia Paddeu, Coline Perrin, Kristin Reynolds & Christophe-Toussaint Soulard - 2021 - Agriculture and Human Values 38 (4):865-880.
In this discussion piece, eight scholars in geography, urban planning, and agri-food studies from the United States (US) and France engage in a bi-national comparison to deepen our collective understanding of food and land justice. We specifically contextualize land justice as a critical component of food justice in both the US and France in three key areas: access to land for cultivation, urban agriculture, and non-agricultural forms of food provisioning. The US and France are interesting cases to compare, considering the (...)

Bringing Together Robotics, Neuroscience, and Psychology: Lessons Learned From an Interdisciplinary Project.Olga A. Wudarczyk, Murat Kirtay, Anna K. Kuhlen, Rasha Abdel Rahman, John-Dylan Haynes, Verena V. Hafner & Doris Pischedda - 2021 - Frontiers in Human Neuroscience 15.
The diversified methodology and expertise of interdisciplinary research teams provide the opportunity to overcome the limited perspectives of individual disciplines. This is particularly true at the interface of Robotics, Neuroscience, and Psychology as the three fields have quite different perspectives and approaches to offer. Nonetheless, aligning backgrounds and interdisciplinary expectations can present challenges due to varied research cultures and practices. Overcoming these challenges stands at the beginning of each productive collaboration and thus is a mandatory step in cognitive neurorobotics. In (...)
