    Co-teaching Botany and History: An Interdisciplinary Model for a More Inclusive Curriculum.Frederica Bowcutt & Tamara Caulkins - 2020 - Isis 111 (3):614-622.
This essay offers numerous ideas on how to integrate science and history into classroom pedagogy in a way that acknowledges the contributions of women and other groups underrepresented in science by highlighting the cultural and political contexts in which science developed rather than by adding token individuals to a history of science still largely defined by the achievements of a few great men. It details how students in a General Education class co-taught by a botanist and a historian of science (...)

Ecologies of public trust: The nhs covid-19 contact tracing app.Gabrielle Samuel, Frederica Lucivero, Stephanie Johnson & Heilien Diedericks - 2021 - Journal of Bioethical Inquiry 18 (4):595-608.
In April 2020, close to the start of the first U.K. COVID-19 lockdown, the U.K. government announced the development of a COVID-19 contact tracing app, which was later trialled on the U.K. island, the Isle of Wight, in May/June 2020. United Kingdom surveys found general support for the development of such an app, which seemed strongly influenced by public trust. Institutions developing the app were called upon to fulfil the commitment to public trust by acting with trustworthiness. Such calls presuppose (...)

  7. How Feminism Went Wrong: Abortion as the Price for Conformity with the Male Model.Frederica Mathewes-Green - 2013 - Christian Bioethics 19 (2):130-132.
When feminism rejected women’s traditional roles, it turned instead to masculine roles: a prizing of sex without commitment and an emphasis on career above family. Abortion serves both goals by keeping sex unencumbered and by freeing women from childcare demands that might limit them at work. In both cases, these might not be what women really desire.

Jak być nieposłusznym? Recenzja książki Frédérica Grosa: Nieposłuszeństwo. Tłum. E. Kaniowska. Wydawnictwo „Czarna Owca”. Warszawa 2019? [REVIEW]Adam Krzyżowski - 2020 - Folia Philosophica 43 (1):1-6.
The review of the book is intended to highlight the main aporias raised by the French philosopher. It is based on the assumption that reading Frédéric Gros' work is a valuable source of information for anyone wishing to deepen their knowledge of both current and past social problems. The philosopher leads extraordinary research on the human individual who participates in the civic structure. The main element of the researcher's contemplation is the title disobedience, which is investigated through the prism of (...)

Haunting Transcendentalist Landscapes: EcoGothic Politics in Margaret Fuller’s Summer on the Lakes.Monika Elbert - 2016 - Text Matters - a Journal of Literature, Theory and Culture 6 (1):53-73.
In this essay, the reminiscences of Margaret Fuller, feminist activist and member of the American Transcendentalist movement, from her journey to the Great Lakes region, entitled Summer on the Lakes, are considered in the light of EcoGothic considerations. The essay shows how Fuller’s journey disillusioned her about progress and led to abandoning the serene vision of nature and landscapes reflected in the works of Transcendentalists. The destruction of nature and landscape verging on an ecological catastrophe is presented by Fuller in (...)
