    War and Ideology.Eric Carlton - 1990 - Rowman & Littlefield Publishers.
Why do men resort to war to solve their socio-economic problems? That is the question that Eric Carlton asks, and attempts to answer, in this stimulating, readable study. Relating war to ideology, this book is based on the proposition that men act as they think, and think as they believe, and that belief - religious or otherwise - conditions attitudes toward the nature and conduct of war. Carlton argues that various constellations of values, often intellectualized as ideologies, not (...)

Hegel, The Reconceptualization of Science, and the Managerial Elite.C. Clark Carlton - 2017 - Christian Bioethics 23 (2):137-148.
It is true that Hegelian historicism has indeed led to a dominant ethos of moral relativism bound up with the belief that individual self-actualization is the highest value, thus creating a society that is, in the phrase of H. Tristram Engelhardt, Jr. “after God.” Nevertheless, this egocentric and nihilistic relativism exists alongside a robust and militant moral totalitarianism enforced by the modern clerisy of the media, multi-national corporations, and government bureaucrats, that is, a “managerial elite.” This article argues that the (...)

    Sexual Reorientation Therapy: An Orthodox Perspective.C. Carlton - 2004 - Christian Bioethics 10 (2-3):137-154.
This article evaluates the phenomenon of sexual reorientation therapy from the standpoint of Orthodox Christian theology. It is argued that homosexual desire is the product of the fall of mankind and cannot be considered “normal.” At the same time, however, reorientation therapies, whether secular or Christian, are inherently reductionistic and fail to address the underlying spiritual pathologies involved in homosexual desire (or any other deep-seated passion). The purpose of therapeia in the Orthodox Church is the psychosomatic transfiguration of the whole (...)

When is Movement Controlled by the Dorsal Stream?Gordon Binsted & Les G. Carlton - 2001 - Behavioral and Brain Sciences 25 (1):97-98.
Our commentary focuses on the functional link between the ventral and dorsal systems implied by Norman, as they relate to overt movement. While issues relating to space perception and size constancy are the primary justification for this dual-process theory, the philosophical extensions of this approach are less consistent with examination of motor control and, in particular, motor learning.

The Krajina Project: Exploring the Ottoman-Hapsburg Borderland.Richard Carlton & Alan Rushworth - 2009 - In A. Peacock (ed.), The Frontiers of the Ottoman World. pp. 403.
This chapter summarises the results of the Krajina Project, which was established in 1998 to investigate the archaeological remains, material culture and continuing ethnographic legacy of this distinctive late medieval/early modern frontier society. The project has focused on an area in the north-west corner of Bosnia-Herzegovina, between Kladuŝa and Bihać, known as the Bihaćka Krajina. This was one of the last districts in the region to be conquered by the Ottoman state, not falling to the sultan's forces until the late (...)

    Speed/Accuracy Relations: The Kinetic–Kinematic Link and Predictions for Rapid Timing Tasks.Les G. Carlton & Yeou-Teh Liu - 1997 - Behavioral and Brain Sciences 20 (2):304-304.
Recent accounts of the speed/accuracy relation for motor tasks have focused on the concept of motor output variability. We outline the advantages of this approach and the limitation of Plamondon's model in explaining movement error. We also examine and present complimentary data for rapid timing tasks. While these tasks do not meet the presented assumptions, the data still fit the model predictions.

    Sexual Reorientation Therapy: Response to Carlton.C. H. Rosik - 2004 - Christian Bioethics 10 (2-3):155-160.
Clark Carlton brings a much-needed theological sensitivity to the issues surrounding current debates about homosexuality and the ethics of sexual reorientation therapy. Yet, Carlton's portrayal seems to mischaracterize and unnecessarily dismiss reorientation therapy on etiological and other theoretical grounds. It is suggested that for most therapists engaged in sexual reorientation therapy the role of developmental factors in homosexual attraction is neither overstated nor minimized.
