When the Presidential Candidate Comes to Town: The Impact of Donald J. Trump’s Campaign Rallies on Local Firms’ Environmental and Social Performance.Feng Guo, Yonghong Liu, Mengmeng Wang & Yiyang Zhang - 2023 - Journal of Business Ethics 186 (3):531-552.
This study investigates how the explicitly anti-prosocial and anti-pro-environmental speech by political elites affects firms’ environmental and social (E&S) performance. Using the case of the Donald J. Trump (DJT) campaign for president in the United States when he gave out controversial and inflammatory remarks, including those regarding E&S issues, we find that local firms’ E&S performance decreased significantly in the year following DJT’s presidential campaign rally compared with firms in other geographic areas where there was no DJT’s presidential campaign event. The Relationships Between Trait Creativity and Resting-State EEG Microstates Were Modulated by Self-Esteem.Xin Wu, Jiajia Guo, Yufeng Wang, Feng Zou, Peifang Guo, Jieyu Lv & Meng Zhang - 2020 - Frontiers in Human Neuroscience 14:576114.
Numerous studies had found that creativity is not only associated with low effort and flexible processes, but also associated with high effort and persistent processes especially when defensive behavior being induced negative emotions. The important role of self-esteem is to buffer the negative emotions and low self-esteem are prone to instigate various forms of defensive behaviors. Thus, we thought that the relationships between trait creativity and executive control brain networks might be modulated by self-esteem. The resting-state electroencephalogram (RS-EEG) microstates can (...)

The Neural Mechanisms of Cognitive Control in the Category Induction Task.Xueli Cai, Guo Li, Qinxia Liu, Feng Xiao, Youxue Zhang & Yifeng Wang - 2022 - Frontiers in Psychology 13.
According to the conflict monitoring hypothesis, conflict monitoring and inhibitory control in cognitive control mainly cause activity in the anterior cingulate cortex and control-related prefrontal cortex in many cognitive tasks. However, the role of brain regions in the default mode network in cognitive control during category induction tasks is unclear. To test the role of the ACC, PFC, and subregions of the DMN elicited by cognitive control during category induction, a modified category induction task was performed using simultaneous fMRI scanning. Underwater Acoustic Image Encoding Based on Interest Region and Correlation Coefficient.Liu Lixin, Guo Feng & Wu Jinqiu - 2018 - Complexity 2018:1-13.
It is difficult for the conventional image compression method to achieve good compression effect in the underwater acoustic image, because the UWAI has large amount of noise and low correlation between pixel points. In this paper, fractal coding is introduced into UWAI compression, and a fractal coding algorithm based on interest region is proposed according to the importance of different regions in the image. The application problems of traditional quadtree segmentation in UWAIs was solved by the range block segmentation method (...)

Network Pseudohealth Information Recognition Model: An Integrated Architecture of Latent Dirichlet Allocation and Data Block Update.Jie Zhang, Pingping Sun, Feng Zhao, Qianru Guo & Yue Zou - 2020 - Complexity 2020:1-12.
The wanton dissemination of network pseudohealth information has brought great harm to people’s health, life, and property. It is important to detect and identify network pseudohealth information. Based on this, this paper defines the concepts of pseudohealth information, data block, and data block integration, designs an architecture that combines the latent Dirichlet allocation algorithm and data block update integration, and proposes the combination algorithm model. In addition, crawler technology is used to crawl the pseudohealth information transmitted on the Sina Weibo (...)

Processing Self-Related Information Under Non-attentional Conditions Revealed by Visual MMN.Sizhe Cheng, Xinhong Li, Qingchen Zhan, Yapei Wang, Yaning Guo, Wei Huang, Yang Cao, Tingwei Feng, Hui Wang, Shengjun Wu, Fei An, Xiuchao Wang, Lun Zhao & Xufeng Liu - 2022 - Frontiers in Human Neuroscience 16.
Mismatch negativity of event-related potentials is a biomarker reflecting the preattentional change detection under non-attentional conditions. This study was performed to explore whether high self-related information could elicit MMN in the visual channel, indicating the automatic processing of self-related information at the preattentional stage. Thirty-five participants were recruited and asked to list 25 city names including the birthplace. According to the difference of relevance reported from the participants, we divided names of the different cities into high, medium, and low self-related (...)

The abstruse phrase “Qi 氣is self-generating; constancy categorically does not engender Qi. Qi is self-generating and self-arising” in Hengxian 《恒先》 should be put in the context of the “self-generating” 自生 idea of Daoism. The cosmology depicted in the first part of Hengxian serves the political philosophy in the second part. “Qi is self-generating” serves the political philosophy of “non-action.” “Self-generating” is an important opinion in the philosophy of Daoism. However, the idea in ancient Daoist literature hasn’t been clearly analyzed. Hengxian (...)
