Vertrauenslosigkeit und damit Vertrauen gelten als Kategorien, die Blockchain- und digitale Technologien über Fragen der bekannten Bitcoin- Anwendung hinaus theoretisch interessant machen. Es zeigt sich jedoch, dass es schwierig wird, wenn wir von „(Nicht-)Vertrauen in die Blockchain“ sprechen. Ist es nicht oftmals eher Verlässlichkeit als Vertrauenswürdigkeit, auf deren Basis Bitcoin- Akteur:innen handeln? Ist Vertrauen in zwischenmenschlichen Beziehungen, das wir alltäglich konkret erleben und oft intuitiv verstehen, und das sich auf Institutionen und Professionen ausweiten kann, für die starre Blockchain-Technologie relevant? Und (...) falls ja, auf welche Weise? Oder wird die Notwendigkeit für Vertrauen – wie es sich im Bitcoin-Whitepaper auf den ersten Blick lesen lässt – mit Bitcoin überflüssig? Sollten wir von einem Technologievertrauen sprechen, das, aufgrund der Unveränderlichkeit dessen, was in der Blockchain gespeichert ist, mit dem interpersonalen Vertrauensparadigma unvereinbar ist und damit eine tiefgreifende Transformation der sozialen Realitäten implizieren würde? Der hier unternommene Versuch, Vertrauen in Abgrenzung zu Sich-verlassen-auf, beide als philosophische Konzepte, im Blockchain-Kontext zu aktualisieren, bedeutet auch, Technologien in ihrer Verwobenheit mit sozial interpretierten Realitäten (des Vertrauens) zu verstehen. In developmental psychopathology, differentiating between the coexistence and the clinical entity of two problem areas is of utmost importance. So far, logistic regression analysis has already provided helpful answers, as shown in studies on comorbidity of tic disorders. While the concept of bridging symptoms may be investigated adequately by both logistic regression and the network approach, the former (latent variable) seems to be of advantage with regard to the problems of multiple comorbidities and development.

Jonathan Vogel has recently argued that counterfactual reliabilism cannot account for higher‐level knowledge that one's belief is true, or not false. His particular argument for this claim is straightforward and valid. Interestingly, there is a parallel argument, based on an alternative but plausible reinterpretation of the main premise in Vogel's argument, which squares CR with higher‐level knowledge both that one's belief is true and that one's belief is not false. I argue that, while Vogel's argument reveals the incompatibility of CR (...) and knowledge of certain higher‐level propositions, it does not establish the general claim that CR is incompatible with knowledge that any of one's beliefs is true, or not false. This article re-examines Vilém Flusser's philosophy of photography and its relation to what I will name the philosophical question of 'image-thinking'. It places his work on photography in the context of the much discussed 'pictorial' and 'iconic' turns in the study of visual culture and, through this, aims to reveal the depth of Flusser's approach to understanding media culture and to argue for the significance and continuing relevance of his philosophy of photography.

The purpose of this article is to reexamine the concept of suchness, as discussed in The Awakening of Faith in the Mahāyāna, in conversation with Meister Eckhart’s neologisms istic/isticheit. Previous comparative Buddhist-Eckhart studies have typically rendered these neologisms in a strict Aristotelian ontological sense, with English renderings being formulated as the “is-ness” or the “being-ness” of God. These earlier interpretations concerning Eckhart’s thought were prevalent in the mid-twentieth century and put forward by the influential Kyoto School. A 2003 article by (...)
