    Abortion.Jack Weir - 2016 - Philosophy in the Contemporary World 23 (2):35-51.
Using conclusions from contemporary evolutionary biology and psychology, I defend a new argument for the moral permissibility of abortion. My analysis shows the falsity of some of the empirical and moral claims in two popular and widely anthologized anti-abortion articles, one by the judge and legal scholar John T. Noonan and the other by the moral philosopher Don Marquis. My argument builds on my criticisms of Noonan and Marquis. People are contingent emergent beings, and cannot be reduced to their DNA (...)

Finding Agreement Among Environmentalists.Jack Weir - 2014 - Philosophy in the Contemporary World 21 (1):65-76.
This article attempts to find grounds for agreement and tolerance among environmentalists, as well as all persons of good will who are reasonable and scientifically informed. It beguis by taking stock of where we are today in ethics in general, and then hi environmental ethics in particular. What are the major theories, their central ideas, and problems? Is there a way forward? Explained and defended throughout is the thesis that moral pluralism is the best way forward.

    Kantian Wholism: Toward a Critical Environmental Ethic.Jack Weir - 1989 - Southwest Philosophical Studies:1-12.
Kant's ethic is rejected by most environmental ethicists as being too anthropocentric. What is argued in this article is that a Kantian-type environmental ethic is possible when Kant is supplemented by insights from recent ecological science. Kantian ethics and environmental wholism are analyzed, and then a critical synthesis is proposed.
