    Pre-eminent among Tantric Goddess temples in India is Kamakhya, revered as the site where the generative organ of the Goddess is worshipped. The name of the Goddess, Kamakhya, indicates that she is at once the desired, the desiring and the granter of desires. This paper considers the ways that desire was implicated in a collaborative feminist-oriented pilgrimage made by six women scholars to the Kamakhya temple in Assam.
