Robust Fractional-Order PID Controller Tuning Based on Bode’s Optimal Loop Shaping.Lu Liu & Shuo Zhang - 2018 - Complexity 2018:1-14.
This paper presents a novel fractional-order PID controller tuning strategy based on Bode’s optimal loop shaping which is commonly used for LTI feedback systems. Firstly, the controller parameters are achieved based on flat phase property and Bode’s optimal reference model, so that the controlled system is robust to gain variations and can achieve desirable transient performance according to various control requirements. Then, robustness analysis of the controlled system is carried out to support the results. Furthermore, the parameter setting is analyzed (...)

Analysis on the Spatio-Temporal Characteristics of Urban Expansion and the Complex Driving Mechanism: Taking the Pearl River Delta Urban Agglomeration as a Case.Luo Liu, Jianmei Liu, Zhenjie Liu, Xuliang Xu & Binwu Wang - 2020 - Complexity 2020:1-12.
Rapid urbanization on a global scale leads to a number of issues such as arable land occupation and ecological degradation. In this context, analyzing the driving mechanism of urban land expansion in complex urban systems facilitates sustainable urban development. Most relevant studies focused on the role of each driving factor and less considered the interaction between different factors spatially and temporally. In order to provide a deep insight into the complex driving mechanism of urban expansion, this study began with an (...)

Extended-State-Observer-Based Collision-Free Guidance Law for Target Tracking of Autonomous Surface Vehicles with Unknown Target Dynamics.Shengnan Gao, Zhouhua Peng, Dan Wang & Lu Liu - 2018 - Complexity 2018:1-10.
This paper is concerned with the target tracking problem of an autonomous surface vehicle in the presence of a maneuvering target. The velocity information of target is totally unknown to the follower vehicle, and only the relative distance and angle between the target and follower are obtained. First, a reduced-order extended state observer is used to estimate the unknown relative dynamics due to the unavailable velocity of the target. Based on the reduced-order extended state observer, an antidisturbance guidance law for (...)

Normalized Robust FOPID Controller Regulation Based on Small Gain Theorem.Shuo Zhang & Lu Liu - 2018 - Complexity 2018:1-10.
In this paper, a normalized robust FOPID controller regulation algorithm is proposed. Only one parameter k is necessary to be tuned in the controller regulation process, so the proposed control algorithm is convenient to be applied on both fractional-order systems and integer-order systems. A robustness evaluation function is constructed based on the small gain theorem. Larger robustness evaluation function value will help the system achieve better robustness performance. Another parameter, β, is also available to serve as a tuning knob when (...)

Multi-UUV Cooperative Dynamic Maneuver Decision-Making Algorithm Using Intuitionistic Fuzzy Game Theory.Lu Liu, Lichuan Zhang, Shuo Zhang & Sheng Cao - 2020 - Complexity 2020:1-11.
In this paper, a multi-unmanned underwater vehicle cooperative dynamic maneuver decision-making algorithm is proposed based on the combination of game theory and intuitionistic fuzzy sets. Underwater environments with weak connectivity, underwater noise, and dynamic uncertainties are fully considered through intuitionistic fuzzy sets, which solves one of the main problems in making decisions underwater. Subsequently, the intuitionistic fuzzy multiattribute evaluation of a UUV maneuver strategy is conducted, and the intuitionistic fuzzy payment matrix of the cooperative dynamic maneuver game is obtained. Thereafter, (...)

Strategic Behavior of Customers and Optimal Control for Batch Service Polling Systems with Priorities.Tao Jiang, Xingzheng Lu, Lu Liu, Jun Lv & Xudong Chai - 2020 - Complexity 2020:1-19.
During the past few years, batch service systems have attracted considerable attention due to their wide area of applications. In this present paper, we study a special batch service polling system with priorities. Different from the previous papers which focus on the performance analysis, we aim to investigate the strategic behavior of customers and optimal design for the underlying queueing model. By considering two levels of information provided upon customers’ arrival, we, respectively, derive the equilibrium strategies of high-priority and low-priority (...)

Spatiotemporal Relationships Between Air Quality and Multiple Meteorological Parameters in 221 Chinese Cities.Mengyi Ji, Yuying Jiang, Xiping Han, Luo Liu, Xinliang Xu, Zhi Qiao & Wei Sun - 2020 - Complexity 2020:1-25.
Air quality in China is characterized by significant spatial and temporal differences, which are directly related to local meteorological conditions. This study used air quality monitoring data, namely, the air pollution index and air quality index between 2005 and 2018, together with meteorological data and identified key meteorological factors that affected the spatial and temporal variation of air quality using a random forest algorithm. The spatial and temporal differences in the threshold values of different meteorological factors affecting the concentrations of (...)

Geologic and Geochemical Characteristics of the Cambrian Marine Shale in the Tarim Basin of China and Their Implication for the Prediction of Shale-Gas Resources.Jinqi Qiao, Luofu Liu, Baojian Shen & Xiaoqing Shang - 2019 - Interpretation 7 (3):T657-T669.
Although the Cambrian marine shale in the Tarim Basin is usually considered to be the source rocks for overlying conventional reservoirs, its unconventional shale-gas potential has not yet been evaluated. To indicate the unconventional resource play potential and highlight more favorable zones, we conducted a comprehensive lithologic, petrophysical, and geochemical analysis of 228 drill core samples from 14 wells and 167 outcrop samples from eight geologic sections in the basin. The results indicate that the Cambrian marine shale was deposited in (...)

  16. Nonlinear Dynamic Modeling and Model Reduction Strategy for Rotating Thin Cylindrical Shells.Shupeng Sun & Lun Liu - 2019 - Complexity 2019:1-17.
Nonlinear dynamic modeling and model reduction strategy are studied in this paper for a rotating thin cylindrical shell. The nonlinear dynamic model is first established in terms of ordinary differential equations, in which the effects of Coriolis and centrifugal forces are considered, as well as the initial hoop tension due to rotation. This model describes both the in-plane vibrations and the flexural vibration and reflects the coupling effects of those deformations. Based on this original model, a novel model reduction strategy (...)

The Mediating Role of Stress Perception in Pathways Linking Achievement Goal Orientation and Depression in Chinese Medical Students.Yan Wang, Luping Liu, Ning Ding, Honghe Li & Deliang Wen - 2021 - Frontiers in Psychology 12.
Mental health problems are frequent obstacles in medical students’ careers as doctors. Given that previous studies overlook the mediation of stress perception, the current study expanded previous goal orientation researches by addressing an unexplored mechanism. This study aims to examine the mediational roles of stress perception on the relationship between achievement goal orientation and depression in medical students. A total of 1,015 Chinese 2-year medical students completed a multi-section questionnaire. Hypotheses were examined by structural equation modeling. The findings suggest that (...)

Bubbles in Agricultural Commodity Markets of China.Xi-Xi Zhang, Lu Liu, Chi-Wei Su, Ran Tao, Oana-Ramona Lobonţ & Nicoleta-Claudia Moldovan - 2019 - Complexity 2019:1-7.
We employ the generalized supremum augmented Dickey–Fuller test to examine whether there are multiple bubbles in Chinese agricultural commodities. The proposed approach is suitable for time series data and identifies the origination and termination of multiple bubbles. The results indicate the existence of bubbles for some agricultural commodity prices, such as garlic, ginger, corn, and wheat prices, that deviate from their intrinsic values upon market fundamentals. The bubbles in the garlic and ginger market are related to speculative activities. The other (...)
