Derrida, la ligne et le cercle. De' construction et principe d’analogie.Lucas M. Possati - 2015 - Symposium: Canadian Journal of Continental Philosophy/Revue canadienne de philosophie continentale 19 (1):268-286.

    The M.A.J. R. Lucas - manuscript
Critics of Oxbridge take unkindly to our M.A. When I had to fill in one of those innumerable time-wasting forms to show how unqualified I was to hold an academic post, I was specifically instructed to describe myself as a B.A., which I was proud to do, since our B.A. is our best degree (everything in Oxford being the opposite of what it seems). But the real equivalent of a mediaeval M.A. is a modern D.Phil, with every academic wanting to (...)

Individual Differences in Workplace Deviance and Integrity as Predictors of Academic Dishonesty.Gale M. Lucas & James Friedrich - 2005 - Ethics and Behavior 15 (1):15 – 35.
Meta-analytic findings have suggested that individual differences are relatively weaker predictors of academic dishonesty than are situational factors. A robust literature on deviance correlates and workplace integrity testing, however, demonstrates that individual difference variables can be relatively strong predictors of a range of counterproductive work behaviors (CWBs). To the extent that academic cheating represents a kind of counterproductive behavior in the work role of "student", employment-type integrity measures should be strong predictors of academic dishonesty. Our results with a college student (...)

This piece outlines concrete cases of benefit sharing that occur in relation to the sharing of human (biological) samples. For example, it surveys Indonesia’s decision, in 2006, to stop sharing virus samples of H5N1 (avian influenza) with the WHO Global Influenza Surveillance Network (GISN). It also outlines some of the ethical issues that arise in these cases.

Ricœur et Deleuze, lecteurs de Spinoza: Ontologie, éthique, imagination.Luca M. Possati - 2013 - Études Ricoeuriennes / Ricoeur Studies 4 (2):123-139.
This article proposes a reading of Ricoeur and Deleuze from their respective interpretations of Spinoza's thought. Ricoeur and Deleuze are placed in the center of the Spinoza-Renaissance that took place in France in the Fifties and Sixties. However, Ricoeur's Spinozism is still largely unknown. The first two parts of the article concern Spinoza's concepts of conatus and essentia actuosa, emphasizing their importance for Ricoeur's hermeneutics of symbols, especially in relation to his reading of Jean Nabert. The following three sections concern (...)

Si L’Action Est Comme le Texte. La Fondation du Social Et le Principe D’Analogie Chez Ricœur: Dialogue.Luca M. Possati - 2013 - Dialogue 52 (3):477-490.

Bringing Science to the Public: Ferdinand von Mueller and Botanical Education in Victorian Victoria.A. M. Lucas, Sara Maroske & Andrew Brown-May - 2006 - Annals of Science 63 (1):25-57.
Summary Ferdinand von Mueller (1825?96), the German-born Government Botanist of Victoria from 1853 until his death, and concurrently Director of the Melbourne Botanic Garden from 1857 until 1873, was a prolific systematic botanist, but also heavily involved in public educational activities. He conceived of the Garden as an educative place of recreation, but ultimately lost control over it. His loss did not stop his popular writing and lecturing, especially in areas related to the application of botany in horticulture, agriculture, and (...)

The four-year wrangle over the ownership of what was then thought to have been the largest known meteorite, recognized near Melbourne in 1860, provides a fine-grained example of the interaction between scientific internationalism, metropolitan appetite for specimens, and colonial civic pride.
