Przeł. i oprac. MAŁGORZATA GLINICKA This is a selected translation drawn from Munimatālaṁkāra (The Ornament of the Sage’s Intention), authored by Abhayākaragupta (c. 1100), one of the last great masters of Buddhism in India. He wrote on most major areas of Buddhist practice and thought (Mahāyāna doctrine and the path, Tantric ritual and meditation). The text does not appear to survive in the original sanskrit. It was translated by the author’s Tibetan disciple Dpang-zho Gsal-ba-grags in Nalanda.=, and later revised by Dpang (...) Lo-tsā-ba Blo-gros-brtan-pa (1276–1342). The passage chosen here is drawn from the final section of the lengthy first chapter of Munimatālaṁkāra, entitled the “appearance of the enlightened mind”. The chapter traces the course of the path from the initial cultivation of the aspiration to enlightenment through to the development of discernment, or wisdom. The analysis of the two truths is introduced in this context. (shrink)

Tolerance and accommodativeness to local culture among students in Ma'had 'Aly is very good and has a significant impact on proving the attitude of religious moderation. This can be seen from the loading factor value of the tolerance dimension with a value of and the Local Culture Accommodative dimension. If the level of tolerance and accommodativeness to local culture is calculated to measure the level of religious moderation of students, then the views of students regarding religious moderation are on a (...) scale of 73.42, which means they are in the moderate category. The sampling method used in this research is the method of purposive sampling and quota sampling. The purposive sampling method was used in the selection of three Ma'had Alys, namely Ma'had al-Jami'ah UIN Jakarta, Darus-Sunnah International Institute for Hadith Sciences, and Pesantren Luhur Sabilussalam. While the Quota Sampling method is used in the distribution of student selection samples. The number of samples used in this study were 120 students. The objects of this research are students who are spread across three Ma'had Alys, namely: Ma'had al-Jami'ah UIN Jakarta, Darus-Sunnah, and Pesantren Luhur Sabilussalam. (shrink)
Given the bond between emotion and cognition underlying the broaden-and-build theory of positive emotions, positive and negative emotions have critical roles in cognitive skills. The aim of this review was to probe into the triarchic relationship between L2 learners’ cognition, emotion, and language performance, reflected in the bond between self-efficacy, foreign language anxiety, and speaking skill, in light of the main emerging theories in the field of SLA underpinning this relationship. Moreover, the theoretical foundations, such as learners’ cognitive performances, Bandura’s (...) self-efficacy theory, control-value theory, and positive psychology theory, were explicated in order to justify the relationship between self-efficacy and oral communication skill. Furthermore, the underlying theories such as attentional control theory, complex dynamic system theory, affective filter theory, and cultural schema theory, which relate foreign language anxiety to speaking skill were scrutinized in this review. The review also expounded on the implications and future directions for EFL teachers, material designers, teacher educators, educational policy-makers, and advisors. The ideas can improve their awareness of learner self-efficacy, foreign language anxiety, and oral communication skill in educational contexts. (shrink)
