Under the influence of philosophers, psychologists, and students of government, a group of writers on the law became known in the 1930's as New Realists. They held a variety of views, but they joined in a very useful critical approach to the law. Reflecting, as he recognized, the influence of his father, Morris R. Cohen, Felix Cohen contributed his own philosophical and social observations to the work of that lively group.
