This review study was conducted to describe how temperament is related to school readiness. The basic research question was whether there is any relationship between later school success and temperament in children and, if so, what characterizes it. A systematic search of databases and journals identified 27 papers that met the two criteria: temperament and school readiness. The analytical strategy followed the PRISMA method. The research confirmed the direct relationship between temperament and school readiness. There is a statistically significant relationship (...) between temperament and school readiness. Both positive and negative emotionality influence behavior (especially concentration), which is reflected in the approach to learning and school success. (shrink)

English summary: Often considered as an orientation and navigation tool, maps are intended to reassure us as we navigate on the earth. But what would happen if we were travelling with maps which disorient us? There certainly is no shortage of maps, but they are not all equally reliable! Some merely reproduce reality, while others, to the contrary, invent it. In addition to external maps used by geographers-geodesists-land surveyors, there are internal maps used by cosmographers-painters-writers and, indeed, all those whose (...) lines fire the imagination, as did Michaux, who said, I want my lines to be the very phrasing of life. The maps which will concern us here are precisely those which resist the tyranny of analogy to plunge us into the mad depths of these uncertain outlines. Such memory-bereft maps leave tracks and yet refuse to follow any sort of path. In doing so, they drag us off into improbable and unknown geographies. This journey is taken by means of a dialogue woven between Michaux's poetic works and Merleau-Ponty's philosophical writings. It also provides an opportunity to clarify Maurice Blanchot's theory expressing the main theme of the following words: Thus were they walking, immobile within the movement. These unfamiliar maps afford us an occasion to advance immobile within the movement, as if to tell us that the fixation points drawn by spatial geometry consist first and foremost of the fictional points invented by geometry. French description: SOUVENT ENVISAGEE comme un instrument d'orientation et de navigation, la carte sert a nous rassurer dans notre lecture du territoire. Mais qu'adviendrait-il si l'on voyageait avec des cartes qui nous desorientaient? Les cartes sont nombreuses certes, mais elles n'ont pas toutes les memes vertus! Certaines se contentent de reproduire simplement la realite, d'autres au contraire l'inventent. Ces cartes sans memoire effectuent des traces et se refusent a suivre toute espece de parcours. Elles nous entrainent ainsi vers des geographies improbables et inconnues. Ce voyage se fera a partir d'un dialogue tisse entre les oeuvres poetiques de Michaux et les ecrits philosophiques de Merleau-Ponty. Il sera aussi l'occasion d'eclairer la formule de Maurice Blanchot, fil conducteur des propos qui vont suivre: Ils marchaient ainsi, immobiles a l'interieur du mouvement. Les cartes inconnues nous offrent l'occasion de marcher immobile a l'interieur du mouvement comme pour nous dire que les points de fixation que la geometrie spatiale dessine sont d'abord des points de fiction que la geometrie invente. We propose that abstraction is an interpersonal process and serves a social function. Research on shared reality shows that in communication, people raise their level of abstraction in order to create a common understanding with their communication partner, which can subsequently distort their mental representation of the object of communication. This work demonstrates that, beyond building accurate models, abstraction also functions to build socially shared models – to create a shared reality.

We propose that cleansing behaviors and other acts of separation or connection have more powerful effects when they are grounded in shared practices – in a shared reality. We conceptualize sensorimotor and shared reality effects as synergistic. Most potent should be physical behaviors performed collectively as a shared practice, grounded both in sensorimotor experience and in shared reality.

At the crossroads of poetry and philosophy: Francis Ponge and Maurice Merleau-Ponty The aim of the present article is to clarify the place of the sensitive dictionary in the work of Francis Ponge and to show how it denotes human's relationship to nature. To achieve that, we will use the body question as a measure of the human–nature relationship and apply the phenomenological method that Ponge took over from Merleau-Ponty. It should be noted that Merleau-Ponty rarely makes reference to Ponge's (...) poems, except for a few incisions in his Causeries. As for Ponge, he uses explicitly only the notion of phenomenological reduction to explain his project of sensitive dictionary. However, we will argue that there are many similarities of thought between the philosopher and the poet, which are still unexplored. (shrink)

Digitaliser l'écriture signifie écriture digitale. La plupart des produits multimédias s'en tiennent à dupliquer les procédés d'écriture et de lecture hérités du livre. Toutefois, quelques créations hypermédias présentent des procédés spécifiques d'écriture et de lecture. Ces créations nous permettent de mieux comprendre les limites et les faiblesses de nos habitudes d'écriture et de lecture. Analyser les produits multi et hypermédia nous conduit à réfléchir sur les questions posées sur les hyperdocuments, à savoir le statut des auteurs hypermédia et quel espace (...) temps les hypermédias proposent-ils.Digitizing writing does mean digital writing. Most multimedia products only duplicate the writing and reading processes inherited from books. However some hypermedia creations offer specific writing and reading processes. These creations allow us to better understand the limits and weaknesses of our writing and reading habits. O presente artigo debruça-se sobre a tradução argentina do livro Who Sings the Nation-State? de Butler e Spivak. Colocando em questão a relação entre tradução e hino nacional para sublinhar o possível nacionalismo atinente a determinadas manifestações políticas, esse mesmo livro, não obstante a sua própria advertência sobre a necessidade de incli-nação para cantar o hino, “erra” a grafia de “Il [sic] pueblo unido jamás sera [sic] vencido” ao citá-lo. Entretanto, será esse o caso de um “erro” deliberado, de uma (...) contradição performativa? Com que incli-nação Butler terá citado essa canção? E o que poderia significar o fato de que, havendo suspeita de nacionalismo de um lado, de outro parece não haver, pois o tradutor da edição argentina “corrige” esses erros e, ao mesmo tempo, testemunha, em nota de rodapé, que estão “En español en el original”? Analisando esses impasses da tradução, o artigo pretende indicar a contundência política que há na tarefa do tradutor e nas formas com que a literatura infringe as gramáticas. (shrink)

Não apenas é sabido que a responsabilidade de um tradutor está ligada a critérios empregados em escolhas atinentes às palavras, respeitando ou não a plurívoca matiz de seus significados e, detrás disso, seu sentido, mas, também, o tradutor escolhe, ao traduzir, aquilo que não deve ser traduzido, aquilo que, em determinados contextos, (...) só é dito mantendo-se à distância. Les écrits de Fernand Deligny ont circulé entre plusieurs mains bien avant d’être publiés. Félix Guattari et Jean Oury l’ont accueilli à la clinique de La Borde de 1965 à 1967. En juillet 1967, Deligny quitte la clinique de La Borde pour s’installer dans la propriété de famille des Guattari à Gourdas dans les Cévennes. C’est ainsi que la tentative et non l’institution des Cévennes dirigée par Deligny commence. Il s’agit d’une tentative parce que Deligny refuse toute forme d’institutionnalisation. Plus (...) tard, Mannoni, Dolto et d’autres lui confieront des enfants. Il est indéniable que la conception de la cartographie delignienne a profondément marqué et influencé celle de Guattari et par voie de conséquence la lecture deleuzienne et guattarienne de la carte comme dispositif territorial. En este artículo abordamos la pregunta por la materia de la voz a partir de dos nociones centrales: articulación y ancestralidad, en el marco de la propuesta singular de una lingüística insumisa, imaginada, indisciplinar, inespecífica. Desde las reflexiones de Agamben, De Certeau, Derrida, Saussure y Zumthor, este texto propone abrir una zona de indagación que asume los riesgos de la ficción (Didi-Huberman) para habilitar interrogantes que no sólo expanden los horizontes disciplinares sino fundamentalmente discuten la pertenencia (humana/no humana) de la (...) voz. Desde la hipótesis de que la voz es infinita (Agamben), discutimos la noción de articulación desde los postulados de Saussure y la lectura que hace Derrida de Rousseau. Con la idea de que la voz es un ancestro del futuro (Didi-Huberman y Coccia), abordamos la cuestión de la ancestralidad revisando algunos postulados de Brisset y Darwin. El propósito fundamental aquí no es sólo poner en cuestión las nociones mencionadas; también buscamos concluir con una evidencia: la necesidad de una indisciplina que sea permeable a la in-especie-ficidad de la voz. This article establishes some important similarities between Husserl’sthoughts about the nature of science and the semantic view of scientific theories. This last conception affirms that empirical theories do not describe the world as it is, but that they idealize and represent it using structural models. In this sense and prima facie, the semantic conception coincides with Husserl’s point of view regarding the life-world and the world of science.

This paper aims to introduce a robust framework for forecasting demand, including data preprocessing, data transformation and standardization, feature selection, cross-validation, and regression ensemble framework. Bagging ), boosting and extreme gradient boosting regression ), and stacking are employed as ensemble models. Different machine learning approaches, including support vector regression, extreme learning machine, and multilayer perceptron neural network, are adopted as reference models. In order to maximize the determination coefficient value and reduce the root mean square error, hyperparameters are set using (...) the grid search method. Using a steel industry dataset, all tests are carried out under identical experimental conditions. In this context, STACK1 and STACK2 models provided better performance than other models. The highest accuracies of R2 of 0.97 and 0.97 are obtained using STACK1 and STACK2, respectively. Moreover, the rank according to performances is STACK1, STACK2, XGBR, GBR, RFR, MLP, ELM, and SVR. As it improves the performance of models and reduces the risk of decision-making, the ensemble method can be used to forecast the demand in a steel industry one month ahead. (shrink)

This article analyses the inner structure of the argumentum orationis pro Milone in order to evaluate how Asconius arranges his narration of events. The analysis focuses on how the various sections unwind, on the use of connectives and temporal indicators, as well as on the use of tenses, and argues that the argumentum proceeds according to the chronological succession of events in its general outlines, within which minor events are inserted by association of ideas regardless of the chronological order. A (...) most striking example is provided by the episodes narrated at 36. 18-38. 13, which form a long digression on the topic of metus Milonis and, subsequently, of constantia Ciceronis. (shrink)

One of the most extensive ensembles of twelfth-century mural painting still extant in France has recently been reconstituted in the Church of Saint-Silvain at Chalivoy-Milon , a small village located about forty kilometers southwest of Bourges. During the late 1970s and 1980s, conservation work carried out under the auspices of Monuments Historiques recovered the entire chevet program , a portion of which was first discovered in February 1868. The stunning exposure of a complex, predominantly Christological cycle at Chalivoy-Milon (...) sparked my interest in nineteenth-century reports of painted decoration once visible in the nave.
