Corporate Social Responsibility is a label covering managerial checks and institutional balances introduced against the background of ethical values. Values are clearly formulated and organizational processes are designed with the inclusion of stakeholders and their voice in mind. In case of the post-communist societies designers of CRS cope with an additional level of complexity. Original sin of market reforms after the political fall of the communist regimes is the corrupt take-over of markets and democracies. Social institutions of capitalist markets and (...) democratic states have been subverted and invaded by the unpurged networks of the post-communist power elites. They privatized the wealth of state enterprises becoming new owners of economic resources and they drifted towards the top functions in state institutions becoming post-communist power brokers. Their long-term monopoly of the media left them in command of the mainstream PR communications long after their absolute political power was gone. Democratic institutions, and the right to free speech are daily challenged by influential image and market competition. They cannot be taken for granted. Some democratic institutions are undermined by subversive networks of the corrupt mafias often formed by ex-functionaries of the communist party and her secret services. Their tacit power is explicitly legitimized by media-clusters of cultural representatives of the communist ex-power elites exploiting leftist bias of media mainstreams. (shrink)

Starting with the distinction of the historical versus the adaptative approach towards dialectical philosophy, The author provides a critical discussion of rod's "dialektische philosophie der neuzeit." he charges rod, Among others, With reducing a problem of dialectic to a simple alternative: either dialectic is an ordinary analytical method and does not merit separate name, Or it is a separate framework for interpreting scientific research and deserves its name, Or it is metaphysical and remains outside science. The author traces the results (...) of accepting such alternatives in the discussion of present day dialectic and demonstrates the necessity of suspended judgement, As far as controversial issues within this field are concerned, At least until further research validates a more definite stand. El presente artículo analiza la epistemología realista y naturalista de John Dewey, para discutir su contribución para la epistemología en la actualidad. El eje de esta investigación consiste en articular los conceptos, experiencia y naturaleza de la epistemología de John Dewey a las contribuciones de autores contemporáneos. Al final, se pretende demostrar que el realismo de Dewey, por caracterizarse como naturalista, aporta contribuciones importantes para la epistemología actual cuando ésta es colocada en una vertiente contraria al objetivismo, pero sin prescindir (...) de la ciencia. Al oponerse a la epistemología clásica, Dewey no pretende apartarse totalmente de esta área de la filosofía, sino que postular un nuevo modelo teórico en el que el conocimiento pueda ser comprendido como mediado por relaciones naturales, causales, cognitivas y culturales. Se revelará que esta perspectiva se anticipa a las vertientes actuales del conocimiento cuya explicación pasa por la noción de complejidad y holismo. (shrink)
