    A systematic comparative analysis of shale reservoir characteristics of the Wufeng-Longmaxi and Niutitang Formations in southeastern Sichuan Basin and its neighboring areas was conducted with respect (...)to mineralogy, organic geochemistry, pore structure, methane sorption, brittleness, and fractures. Results indicate that organic matter -hosted pores that are hundreds of nanometers to micrometers in size in the Longmaxi shale are well-developed in migrated OM rather than in the in situ OM, and they are the dominant reservoir spaces. Furthermore, the total organic carbon, brittleness, organic pores, and bedding fractures have good synergistic development relationships. However, there are fewer OM-hosted pores in the Niutitang shale; they are smaller in size, usually less than 30 nm, and have a more complicated pore structure. The intergranular pores in cataclastic organic-inorganic mineral fragments are the dominant reservoir spaces in the Niutitang shale and are coupled with stronger methane sorption and desorption capacities. The piecewise correlation between TOC and brittleness indicates the significant differences in pore and fracture characteristics. When the TOC [Formula: see text], the TOC, brittleness, organic/inorganic pores, and fractures synergistically develop; when the TOC [Formula: see text], even though the increase in ductility reduces the number of fractures, the lower cohesive strength, internal friction angle, and weaker surfaces of interlayer fractures and cataclastic minerals promote the development of slip fractures, which significantly improves the fracture effectiveness and reservoir spaces for free and absorbed shale gas. The Longmaxi, Wufeng, and Niutitang shales formed and evolved in different evolutionary stages. With the evolution of hydrocarbon generation, diagenesis, tectonic deformation, and pressure, the size and proportion of OM-hosted pores gradually decrease. At the same time, the complexity of the pore-fracture structure, the methane adsorption/desorption capacity, and the proportion of inorganic pores and fractures increase. (shrink)

    The characteristics of the hydrate-bearing layer are important parameters for gas hydrate exploration and exploitation, which can be provided by laboratory analysis. We have carried out (...)a systematic analysis of modern instruments, including the laser grain size analyzer, X-ray computed tomography, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, gas chromatography, and isotope mass spectrometry, on the hydrate-bearing sediment samples recovered from the Shenhu area in the South China Sea in 2016. We focused on the structure, hydration number, and gas composition of the gas hydrate samples. We also evaluated the effects of sediments on the occurrence and distribution of gas hydrate. Our results showed that the sediments are much finer than those recovered from the Shenhu area in 2007. Some samples are found to contain calcareous microfossils and foraminifera, which are beneficial for dispersed gas hydrate formation. Whereas the only visible hydrate sample has not found any bioclast in the sediments. Based on the Raman data and the XRD analysis, the gas hydrates demonstrate typical structure I hydrates, with cage occupancies of methane molecules higher than 99.3% in large cages and 81.5%–91.4% in small cages, respectively. The crystal lattice parameter is 11.89 Å with the hydration number being approximately 6.0. Methane is obviously the dominant component, ranging from 97.6% to 99.95% in these samples. Comprehensive study of carbon and hydrogen isotopes suggests that the hydrate-bound gases are from biogenic and thermogenic gases in the study area. (shrink)

    Brain networks provide essential insights into the diagnosis of functional brain disorders, such as Alzheimers disease. However, it is still challenging to learn complex network structures and the connectivity of brain regions in non-Euclidean space. To address this problem, in this paper, we exploit the study of brain network classification from the perspective of graph learning. We propose an aggregator based on extreme learning machine that boosts the aggregation ability and efficiency of graph convolution without iterative tuning. Then, we design a graph neural network named GNEA for the graph classification task. Extensive experiments are conducted using a real-world AD detection dataset to evaluate and compare the graph learning performances of GNEA and state-of-the-art graph learning methods. The results indicate that GNEA achieves excellent learning performance with the best graph representation ability in brain network classification applications. (shrink)

    The issue of cyberbullying is a social concern that has arisen due to the prevalent use of computer technology today. In this paper, we present a multi- (...)faceted solution to mitigate the effects of cyberbullying, one that uses computer technology in order to combat the problem. We propose to provide assistance for various groups affected by cyberbullying. Our solution was developed through a series of group projects and includes i) technology to detect the occurrence of cyberbullying ii) technology to enable reporting of cyberbullying iii) proposals to integrate third-party assistance when cyberbullying is detected iv) facilities for those with authority to manage online social networks or to take actions against detected bullies. In all, we demonstrate how this important social problem which arises due to computer technology can also leverage computer technology in order to take steps to better cope with the undesirable effects that have arisen.     IntroductionDuring the COVID-19 outbreak, many citizens were asked to stay at home in self-quarantine, which can pose a significant challenge with respect to remaining physically active (...) and maintaining mental health. This study aimed to evaluate the prevalence of inadequate physical activity, anxiety, and depression and to explore the relationship of physical activity with anxiety and depression symptoms among Chinese college students during quarantine.MethodUsing a web-based cross-sectional survey, we collected data from 1,396 Chinese college students. Anxiety and depression were assessed with the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale and the Self-Rating Depression Scale, respectively. The data on physical activity were collected by types of physical activity and the International Physical Activity Questionnaire.ResultsDuring the COVID-19 outbreak, about 52.3% of Chinese college students had inadequate physical activity. The rates of anxiety and depression symptoms were 31.0 and 41.8%, respectively. A high level of physical activity was significantly closely associated with low anxiety, while a moderate, or high level of physical activity was significantly closely associated with reduced depression after adjusting confounding demographic factors. Moreover, specific types of physical activity, such as stretching and resistance training, were negatively correlated with both anxiety and depression; doing household chores was negatively correlated with depression.ConclusionOur findings highlight specific levels and types of home-based physical activities that need to be taken into consideration to protect the mental health of college students during the COVID-19 epidemic.     Following the analysis of cores, outcrops, well log, and seismic sections, we have studied the seismic reflection configuration and depositional history of the hydrocarbon-rich Yanchang Formation (...)in the Ordos Basin. We divided the seismic reflection configurations into five types: subparallel reflection, parallel reflection, tangential progradational reflection, shingled progradational reflection, and chaotic reflection. Based on our study results, we concluded that the slopes exhibit differences in the different regions of the Ordos Basin during the sedimentary period of the Yanchang Formation: The slope with the largest gradient of approximately 10°–20° occurred in the southwestern basin, followed by the northwestern basin, but the slope was relatively gentle in the northeastern basin. We also found that the paleocurrent direction of the basin mainly includes two directions: The paleocurrent direction of the southwest region is 186°–259°, which indicates the provenance came from the southwestern region, whereas the paleocurrent direction of the northeast region is 10°–79°, which indicates that the provenance came from the northeastern region. In addition, the Ordos Basin was under isostatic subsidence as a whole during this period, and its sedimentary infilling evolution underwent five stages: the initial depression, intense depression, progradational filling, uplifting and denudation, as well as shrinking and extinction stages, just corresponding with the Chang 10-Chang 9, the Chang 8-Chang 7, the Chang 6-Chang 4+5, the Chang 3-Chang 2, and the Chang 1 depositional age, respectively.     In this paper, a finite-time simultaneous stabilization problem is investigated for a set of stochastic port-controlled Hamiltonian systems over delayed and fading noisy channels. The feedback (...) control signals transmitted via a communication network suffer from both constant transmission delay and fading channels which are modeled as a time-varying stochastic model. First, on the basis of dissipative Hamiltonian structural properties, two stochastic PCH systems are combined to form an augmented system by a single output feedback controller and then sufficient conditions are developed for the semiglobally finite-time simultaneous stability in probability of the resulting closed-loop systems. The case of multiple stochastic PCH systems is also considered and a new control scheme is proposed for the systems to save costs and achieve computational simplification. Finally, an example is provided to verify the feasibility of the proposed simultaneous stabilization method. (shrink)

    With the development of sentiment analysis, studies have been gradually classified based on different researched candidates. Among them, aspect-based sentiment analysis plays an important role in (...)subtle opinion mining for online reviews. It used to be treated as a group of pipeline tasks but has been proved to be analysed well in an end-to-end model recently. Due to less labelled resources, the need for cross-domain aspect-based sentiment analysis has started to get attention. However, challenges exist when seeking domain-invariant features and keeping domain-dependent features to achieve domain adaptation within a fine-grained task. This paper utilizes the domain-dependent embeddings and designs the model CD-E2EABSA to achieve cross-domain aspect-based sentiment analysis in an end-to-end fashion. The proposed model utilizes the domain-dependent embeddings with a multitask learning strategy to capture both domain-invariant and domain-dependent knowledge. Various experiments are conducted and show the effectiveness of all components on two public datasets. Also, it is also proved that as a cross-domain model, CD-E2EABSA can perform better than most of the in-domain ABSA methods. (shrink)

    Epilepsy is a neurological disease, and the location of a lesion before neurosurgery or invasive intracranial electroencephalography surgery using intracranial electrodes is often very challenging. The high- (...)frequency oscillation mode in MEG signal can now be used to detect lesions. Due to the time-consuming and error-prone operation of HFOs detection, an automatic HFOs detector with high accuracy is very necessary in modern medicine. Therefore, an optimized capsule neural network was used, and a MEG HFOs detector based on MEGNet was proposed to facilitate the clinical detection of HFOs. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time that a neural network has been used to detect HFOs in MEG. After optimized configuration, the accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score of the proposed detector reached 94%, 95%, 94%, and 94%, which were better than other classical machine learning models. In addition, we used the k-fold cross-validation scheme to test the performance consistency of the model. The distribution of various performance indicators shows that our model is robust. (shrink)
