Social Domination and Epistemic Marginalisation: Towards Methodology of the Oppressed.Venkatesh Vaditya - 2018 - Social Epistemology 32 (4):272-285.
Marginalisation is both a structural and an epistemic issue. The struggle against exclusion and marginalisation should take place within larger social structures. Moreover, we should address the legitimacy offered, through the knowledge production process itself, for exclusion and marginalisation. Knowledge production regarding the oppressed should document their lives, experiences and concerns. It must take place with an appropriate methodological struggle informed by alternative epistemologies. While creating alternative epistemologies, it is important to challenge the value-neutrality claim of mainstream research practices. We (...)

“The Road Not Taken”: A Study of Moral Intensity, Whistleblowing, and Regret.Amy Fredin, Roopa Venkatesh, Jennifer Riley & Susan W. Eldridge - 2019 - Ethics and Behavior 29 (4):320-340.
Despite attempts to encourage whistleblowing, lingering reluctance to report questionable acts remains frustratingly apparent. Our objective is to examine the regret a professional anticipates when evaluating the action of reporting or not reporting, and whether the framing of the action influences regret. Responses from 263 professionals indicate that regret depends on the moral intensity of the situation and how the action is framed. Regret for whistleblowing is not comparable to regret for not remaining silent, despite the fact that these two (...)

International Corporate Responsibility in the Context of Development.Venkatesh Seshamani - 2009 - International Corporate Responsibility Series 4:337-348.
Development is a process of achieving a right balance between economic growth and psychic income growth. A foreign investor’s manner of conducting business in a country could result in any of four scenarios in which economic/psychic income is low/inadequate, high/inadequate, low/adequate, or high/adequate. Foreign investment will contribute to development only if it reflects the fourth scenario. A responsible corporation can contribute to money income and more importantly to psychic income of a company’s workers. This paper examines the corporate responsibility performance (...)

Semiconductor Research Corporation: A Case Study in Cooperative Innovation Partnerships.Nathaniel Logar, Laura Diaz Anadon & Venkatesh Narayanamurti - 2014 - Minerva 52 (2):237-261.
In the study of innovation institutions, it is important to consider how different institutional models can affect a research organization in conducting or funding successful work. As an industry collaborative, Semiconductor Research Corporation provides an example of a privately funded institution that leverages the inputs of several member companies, along with federal funding, to accomplish innovation in its mission area. SRC has several component programs, all attempting to find innovative solutions to semiconductor problems, but on different time scales, and in (...)
