In diesem Aufsatz wird das Verhältnis zwischen den Begriffen Gelassenheit und πόλεμοσ, von Heidegger als „Auseinanderset- zung“ übersetzt und aufgefasst, untersucht. Der Betrachtung liegt dabei die Frage zu Grunde, ob der späte Heidegger sich mit den Begriffen Gestell und Gelassenheit überhaupt noch im Sinne grundlegender Gestalten der mensch- lichen Lebensweise auseinandersetzt, so wie er es in den 30er Jahren tat und behauptete. Weitergehend wird die Beziehung des Begriffs der Gleichförmig- keit, verstanden als eine Folge der technischen Herrschaft über die Erde, (...) zu C. In addition to discussing some philosophical accounts of common sense, this article considers several ways in which common sense can be altered or disturbed in psychopathology. Common sense can be defined as practical understanding, capacity to see and take things in their right light, sound judgment, or ordinary mental capacity. The philosopher Vico described it as the ability to distinguish the probable from the improbable. Goethe understood common sense as an "organ" that is formed in communication for the purpose of (...) communication. Common sense is rooted in the intersubjective constitution of the life-world. Obsessive-compulsive patients show relatively mild disturbances of common sense. Patients with major affective psychoses, in their premorbid personality structure, are overly attached to common sense. In schizophrenia, however, there seems to be a true abdication of common sense involving a loss of "natural self-evidence." Even in premorbid states, such persons often lose both the sense of tact and the ability to "take things in their right light." Although logic, and the ability to engage in theoretical discussion, may be preserved, there is a loss of interpretive skills and the "faculty of judgment"; this results in an inability to cope with everyday practical and social activity. There is also a characteristic sense of perplexity, a sense of amazement before that which would normally seem self-evident and a frequent tendency to reflect upon the conditions of possibility of existence that otherwise remain concealed. The author suggests that the fragility of common sense should not be seen as a mere deficiency state. Rather, it derives from a basic vulnerability inherent in the very structure of being human. Der Artikel untersucht das Markusevangelium als kommunikative Handlung und fragt nach der Ausgangsfrage, auf die der Text eine Antwort ist. Die Analyse der Aussagen über die Zeit nach der im Text erzählten Zeit hinaus, der Charakterisierung der Jünger und der Erzähldynamik vom Anfang zum Schluss führt zu dem Ergebnis, dass sich das Markusevangelium der Herausforderung der Anfrage stellt, die Jesus am Kreuz hinausruft: „Mein Gott, mein Gott, warum hast du mich verlassen?" . Die grundlegende Antwort auf diese Frage ist die (...) markinische Rede von der Verborgenheit Gottes, seiner Herrschaft und seines Sohnes. Entsprechend möchte das Markusevangelium seine Leser auf einen Weg zu vertiefter Wahrnehmung führen, der sie erkennen lässt, dass sie nicht von Gott verlassen sind, sondern dass Gott ihnen verborgen nahe ist. Dieser Weg durch den Text wird in den drei entscheidenden Schritten beschrieben. Aufgrund der bleibenden Bedeutsamkeit seiner Ausgangsfrage erweist sich das Markusevangelium als ein auch heute noch aktueller und herausfordernder Text.The article examines the gospel of Mark as communicative act and asks for the initial question, to which the text is the answer. The analysis of the statements about the time beyond the time covered by the narrative, the characterization of the disciples and the narrative dynamics from beginning to end lead to the conclusion, that the gospel according to Mark takes up the challenge of the question, which Jesus cries on the cross: „My God, my God, why do you have forsaken me?".The fundamental answer to this challenge is the Markan emphasis on the concealment of God and his kingdom and the concealment of his son. Accordingly, the gospel of Mark wants to lead the reader on a way of deepened perception and awareness in order to recognize, that he is not forsaken by God, but that God is covertly near. This way is described in his three decisive steps. Because of the lasting significance of its initial question the gospel of Mark turns out to be of vital importance for present readers. (shrink)

What may we believe? What ought we to do? These two questions, which are intended as a subtle contemporary version of the questions that concerned Kant, set the parameters of the diverse activities of the Eighth Triannual International Congress, GAP.8, of the German Gesellschaft für Analytische Philosophie (Society for Analytic Philosophy, GAP), held at the University of Konstanz at September 17–20, 2012. These questions remain central systematic questions of theoretical and practical philosophy.The six articles collected here are the main papers (...) presented at that congress. They can be divided into two groups. First, there are Peter M. S. Hacker’s opening lecture, Ulrich Blau’s Erkenntnis lecture which was sponsored by Springer Publishers, and Roy Sorensen’s closing lecture. Second, there are three papers which are all connected to the author’s symposium held in honour of Rüdiger Bittner, who received the 2012 Frege-Prize of the Gesellschaft für Analytische Philosophie for a distinguis. Politics in a democratic society is about securing the safety of all citizens while exercising the largest possible amount of openness and tolerance at the same time. But what is the role of Protestant ethics in such a society? Religion and politics are strongly interlinked, but of course not in a legal sense as the state has to remain religiously neutral. So there is nothing like »Christian politics« but there are Christians who have a political voice that needs to be (...) raised in order to be heard. Protestants have a long tradition of publicly articulating their religious thoughts and political ideas. The concept of human dignity in Article 1 of our constitution, for example, has its roots in the belief that human life is a gift from God and does not despend on human merits. Such an articulation is essential for a state that exists on foundations and values that it cannot provide itself, as the former judge of the Constitutional Court, E.-W. Böckenförde, pointed out. The Zeitschrift für Evangelische Ethik can claim a lot of credit for the fact, that theologians and philosophers, politicans and scientists have used that forum over the last decades to articulate their views on topics concerning ethics. The variety of their positions is necessary and essential to guarantee freedom and a pluralism of opinions in our society. One experience from the First German Islam Conference, which was initiated by the Minister of State in 2006, is that a society discussing the hard questions of integration, tolerance or religious beliefs, depends on those spaces where all our substantial controversies about ethics, politics and religion can be discussed.
