Multifractal Detrended Cross-Correlation Analysis of the Return-Volume Relationship of Bitcoin Market.Wei Zhang, Pengfei Wang, Xiao Li & Dehua Shen - 2018 - Complexity 2018:1-20.
We investigate the cross-correlations of return-volume relationship of the Bitcoin market. In particular, we select eight exchange rates whose trading volume accounts for more than 98% market shares to synthesize Bitcoin indexes. The empirical results based on multifractal detrended cross-correlation analysis reveal that the nonlinear dependencies and power-law cross-correlations in return-volume relationship are found; all cross-correlations are multifractal, and there are antipersistent behaviors of cross-correlation for q=2; the price of small fluctuations is more persistent than that of the volume, while (...)

This paper focuses on the problem of target tracking using k fittest robots in a group of n mobile robots with n>k. We present centralized and distributed coordination models with all-to-all and limited communications, respectively. For the case of all-to-all communication between robots, theoretical analysis is presented to prove the exponential stability of the whole system. In real applications of robotic networks, a robot may only be allowed to exchange information with a limited number of neighbors. In such a limited (...)

The purpose of the present work is to develop a quasi-3D numerical method that can be used to study the diffusion mechanism of grout injection in a rock fracture based on the collocated structured grid of the finite volume method. Considering the characteristics of fracture in geometry that the aperture is much less than its length and width, the Hele-Shaw model is introduced to deduce the z-derivatives of velocities u and v at walls, which is a function of the relevant (...)

In this paper, a fractional-order HBV model was set up based on standard mass action incidences and quasisteady assumption. The basic reproductive number R0 and the cytotoxic T lymphocytes’ immune-response reproductive number R1 were derived. There were three equilibrium points of the model, and stable analysis of each equilibrium point was given with corresponding hypothesis about R0 or R1. Some numerical simulations were also given based on HBeAg clinical data, and the simulation showed that there existed positive logarithmic correlation between (...)

Synchronization Analysis of Complex Dynamical Networks Subject to Delayed Impulsive Disturbances.Mingyue Li, Huanzhen Chen & Xiaodi Li - 2020 - Complexity 2020:1-12.
This paper studies the problem of leader-following synchronization for complex networks subject to delayed impulsive disturbances, where two kinds of time delays considered exist in internal complex networks and impulsive disturbances. Some delay-dependent sufficient criteria are derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities by using the delayed impulsive differential inequality method. Moreover, a feedback controller is designed to realize desired synchronization via the established LMIs. Our proposed results show that the requirements of impulse intervals and impulse sizes are dropped, and (...)

Cross-border migration brings economic and cultural impacts to the origin and destination and is also a key to reflect the international relations of related countries. In fact, the migration relationships of countries are complex and multilateral, but most traditional migration models are bilateral. Network theories could provide a better description of global migration to show the structure and statistical characteristics more clearly. Based on the estimated (...)

A large number of studies demonstrated that major depressive disorder is characterized by the alterations in brain functional connections which is also identifiable during the brain’s “resting-state.” But, in the present study, the approach of constructing functional connectivity is often biased by the choice of the threshold. Besides, more attention was paid to the number and length of links in brain networks, and the clustering partitioning of nodes was unclear. Therefore, minimum spanning tree analysis and the hierarchical clustering were first (...)

Finite-Time Stability for a Class of Underactuated Systems Subject to Time-Varying Disturbance.Jie Wu, Dan Yang, Xinyi He & Xiaodi Li - 2020 - Complexity 2020:1-7.
Based on the classical finite-time stability theory, the problem of finite-time stability for time-varying nonlinear systems is investigated in this paper. Several FTS theorems involving global form and local form are presented, and an estimate of the settling-time of such systems is obtained. As an application, we consider the problem of asymptotic stabilization of the Brockett integrator subject to time-varying disturbance. By the switched finite-time controller design methodology, we establish a sufficient condition to guarantee the relative asymptotic stability. For Brockett-like (...)

A Two-Stage Offline-to-Online Multiobjective Optimization Strategy for Ship Integrated Energy System Economical/ Environmental Scheduling Problem.Qing An, Jun Zhang, Xin Li, Xiaobing Mao, Yulong Feng, Xiao Li, Xiaodi Zhang, Ruoli Tang & Hongfeng Su - 2021 - Complexity 2021:1-12.
The economical/environmental scheduling problem of the ship integrated energy system has high computational complexity, which includes more than one optimization objective, various types of constraints, and frequently fluctuated load demand. Therefore, the intelligent scheduling strategies cannot be applied to the ship energy management system online, which has limited computing power and storage space. Aiming at realizing green computing on SEMS, in this paper a typical SIES-EESP optimization model is built, considering the form of decision vectors, the economical/environmental optimization objectives, and (...)

Background: Interpersonal sensitivity is a prominent mental health problem facing college students today. Trait mindfulness is a potential positive factor that may influence interpersonal relationships. However, the precise relationship between trait mindfulness and interpersonal sensitivity remains elusive, which limits the optimization and further application of mindfulness-based intervention schemes targeting interpersonal sensitivity. This study aimed to explore whether negative emotions mediate the relationship between trait mindfulness and interpersonal sensitivity and whether the relationship among trait mindfulness, negative emotions, and interpersonal sensitivity is (...)

Weibo Attention and Stock Market Performance: Some Empirical Evidence.Minghua Dong, Xiong Xiong, Xiao Li & Dehua Shen - 2018 - Complexity 2018:1-8.
In this paper, we employ Weibo Index as the proxy for investor attention and analyze the relationships between investor attention and stock market performance, i.e., trading volume, return, and volatility. The empirical results firstly show that Weibo attention is positively related to trading volume, intraday volatility, and return. Secondly, there exist bidirectional causal relationships between Weibo attention and stock market performance. Thirdly, we generally find that higher Weibo attention indicates higher correlation coefficients with the quantile regression analysis.

Sentiment analysis has been widely used in text mining of social media to discover valuable information from user reviews. Sentiment lexicon is an essential tool for sentiment analysis. Recent research studies indicate that constructing sentiment lexicons for special domains can achieve better results in sentiment analysis. However, it is not easy to construct a sentiment lexicon for a specific domain because most current methods highly depend on general sentiment lexicons and complex linguistic rules. In this paper, the construction of sentiment (...)

Many million small molecules (SM) are bound to the proteins extracted from a patient's cancer. SM that also bind proteins extracted from normal human tissues are subtracted from the cancer protein bound SM leaving a large array of SM targeting many sites on each of the cancer biomarkers. Targeting many more than the conventional 1 – 4 cancer biomarkers will (...)

For this, we developed a numerical scheme with the help of quasi-wavelets. The fractional term in the time direction is approximated by using the Crank–Nicolson scheme. The spatial term and the integral term present in integro reaction-diffusion are discretized and approximated with the help of quasi-wavelets. We study this model with Dirichlet boundary conditions.
