The application of game elements of gamification in online shopping is attracting interest from researchers and practitioners. However, it remains unclear how gamification affects and improves consumer purchase intention on online shopping platforms, which still leaves a gap in our knowledge. To narrow this theoretical gap, a theoretical model has been built in this study. This model adopts cognitive evaluation theory to explain the impact of gamification elements on consumer purchase intention. Data was collected from 322 online shopping consumers who (...) used a flash game to test their purchase intention after playing games. The results show that game rewards, absorption and autonomy of gamification positively enhance sense of enjoyment, and that it helps people meet their psychological needs, which ultimately affects the online purchase intention of consumers. This study is helpful in analyzing the factors involved in the successful introduction of gamification on online shopping platforms in more detail. (shrink)
Anxious major depressive disorder is a common subtype of major depressive disorder; however, its unique neural mechanism is not well-understood currently. Using multimodal MRI data, this study examined common and specific alterations of amygdala subregions between patients with and without anxiety. No alterations were observed in the gray matter volume or intra-region functional integration in either patient group. Compared with the controls, both patient groups showed decreased functional connectivity between the left superficial amygdala and the left putamen, and between the (...) right superficial amygdala and the bilateral anterior cingulate cortex and medial orbitofrontal cortex, while only patients with anxiety exhibited decreased activity in the bilateral laterobasal and superficial amygdala. Moreover, the decreased activity correlated negatively with the Hamilton depression scale scores in the patients with anxiety. These findings provided insights into the pathophysiologic processes of anxious major depressive disorder and may help to develop new and effective treatment programs. (shrink)
This paper considers observer design for discrete-time descriptor systems with packet losses. By taking packet loss into consideration, the error dynamic of the proposed observer becomes a stochastic switched system. Consequently, the proposed observer is synthesized in a stochastic switched system framework. Sufficient conditions for the stochastic stability with a prescribed robust performance of the error dynamic system are derived and converted into linear matrix inequalities. Not only can the proposed observer deal with packet losses, but it also attenuates the (...) effect of process disturbance and measurement noise. A numerical simulation of a truck-trailer is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. (shrink)
In this paper, the design of finite-time H2/H∞ controller for linear Itô stochastic Poisson systems is considered. First, the definition of finite-time H2/H∞ control is proposed, which considers the transient performance, H2 index, and H∞ index simultaneously in a predetermined finite-time interval. Then, the state feedback and observer-based finite-time H2/H∞ controllers are presented and some new sufficient conditions are obtained. Moreover, an algorithm is given to optimize H2 and H∞ index, simultaneously. Finally, a simulation example indicates the effectiveness of the (...) results. (shrink)
A method of identifying lithostratigraphic traps based on seismic sedimentology is proposed. We first establish a 3D high-resolution sequence stratigraphic framework by using the stratal slices. Then, the reservoir distribution and reservoir-seal assemblage are investigated within the high-resolution sequence framework. This method turns the interpretation of lithostratigraphic traps from traditional seismic facies-based approach to the dynamic analysis of high-resolution seismic geomorphic information. We divide the lower Sha-1 member in the Banqiao Sag, Bohai Bay Basin, East China, into fourth- and fifth-order (...) sequences by applying our method. The fifth-order sequence corresponding to Sha1-2 shows that the fan delta-distal subaqueous fan depositional system can be observed at the bottom of Sha1-2. The bounding fault and paleogeomorphology control the deposition of sand, whereas the sand bodies in the fan delta and distal subaqueous fan are developed near the bounding fault and the open lake basin, respectively. We then predict the sand thickness based on the well logs and seismic amplitudes. Moreover, according to the structural features, at least four lithostratigraphic traps are identified. These traps form a good reservoir-seal assemblage with overlying mudstones deposited during the period of lacustrine level rising. The drilling results in Trap-3 suggest that, our method can be a method of choice for effectively identifying the lithostratigraphic traps, a significant measure for hydrocarbon exploration. (shrink)
As a form of experiential education, service learning shows great potential for promoting students' knowledge transfer as it offers students opportunities to apply what they have learned in classrooms to serve communities in real-life contexts. To explore how students' knowledge transfer evolves during SL, we collected longitudinal survey data from 96 Chinese college students in a 9-week SL program. Results indicate that students' perceived knowledge transfer in SL did not follow a linear trajectory. Although students' perceived knowledge transfer at the (...) end of SL was significantly higher than those at the beginning, a slight drop was observed in the middle of SL; the developmental pattern of perceived knowledge transfer varied across students; and students' perceived knowledge transfer development during SL was associated with mastery goal orientation and perceptions of psychologically controlling behaviors from their SL supervisors. By providing evidence of the dynamic process and mechanisms of students' knowledge transfer development, the present study adds to our understanding of how, when, and why the benefits of SL are realized.
