    Topology and Morphogenesis.Xin Wei Sha - 2012 - Theory, Culture and Society 29 (4-5):220-246.
One can use mathematics not as an instrument or measure, or a replacement for God, but as a poetic articulation, or perhaps as a stammered experimental approach to cultural dynamics. I choose to start with the simplest symbolic substances that respect the lifeworld’s continuous dynamism, temporality, boundless morphogenesis, superposability, continuity, density and value, and yet are independent of measure, metric, counting, finitude, formal logic, syntax, grammar, digitality and computability – in short, free of the formal structures that would put a (...)

    Poetics of Performative Space.Xin Wei Sha - 2007 - AI and Society 21 (4):607-624.
The TGarden is a genre of responsive environment in which actor–spectators shape dense media sensitive to their movements. These dense fields of light, sound, and material also evolve according to their own composed dynamics, so the agency is distributed throughout the multiple media. These TGardens explore open-ended questions like the following: what makes some time-based, responsive environments compelling, and others flat? How can people improvise gestures without words, that are individually or collectively meaningful? When and how is a movement intentional, (...)

Projection Synchronization of a Class of Complex Chaotic Systems with Both Uncertainty and Disturbance.Hongsheng Sha, Guijuan Wang, Tao Hao & Zuoxun Wang - 2020 - Complexity 2020:1-12.
This paper mainly investigates the projection synchronization of complex chaotic systems with both uncertainty and disturbance. Using the linear feedback method and the uncertainty and disturbance estimation- based control method, the projection synchronization of such systems is realized by two steps. In the first step, a linear feedback controller is designed to control the nominal complex chaotic systems to achieve projection synchronization. An UDE-based controller is proposed to estimate the whole of uncertainty and disturbance in the second step. Finally, numerical (...)

  12. The Motor Function Evaluation of College Students’ Physical Activity State From the Perspective of Educational Psychology.Sha Ge, Chao Song & Wanxiang Yao - 2021 - Frontiers in Psychology 12.
College students have taken part in less and less physical activities as a result of the common static lifestyle in recent years, lowering the level of motor function. This phenomenon has been a source of concern for schools and the government, and it is necessary to take corresponding measures to change it. The general motor function level of Chinese college students is explored first based on artificial intelligence and the human–computer interaction technology. The Physical Activity Questionnaire for College Students is (...)

Concerted Knowledges and Practices: An Experiment in Autonomous Cultural Production. [REVIEW]Xin Wei Sha - 2013 - AI and Society 28 (2):133-145.
About 20 years ago, the ecology of media art practices proliferated in two domains: those that attached themselves to high technology labs or companies like Xerox PARC, and those that took advantage of personal computing to form collectives only loosely coupled to academic institutions or disciplines. In this essay, I closely examine the diverse epistemic cultures and diverse technical, political, and generational interests in such “cyber-anarchist” networks. I sketch the economy of knowledge in recent media arts and technology communities of (...)

Writing in water: dense responsive media in place of relational interfaces.Xin Wei Sha - forthcoming - AI and Society:1-9.
In this essay we explore extensive modes of enactive engagement among humans, physical and computational media richer than the modes represented by classical notions of interaction and relation. We make use of a radically material and a potential-theoretic account of event to re-conceive ad hoc, non-pre-schematized activity in responsive environments. We can regard such activity as sense-making via dehomogenization of material that co-articulates subjects and objects.

Exploring the Depth of Dream Experience: The Enactive Framework and Methods for Neurophenomenological Research.E. Solomonova & X. W. Sha - 2016 - Constructivist Foundations 11 (2):407-416.
Context: Phenomenology and the enactive approach pose a unique challenge to dream research: during sleep one seems to be relatively disconnected from both world and body. Movement and perception, prerequisites for sensorimotor subjectivity, are restricted; the dreamer’s experience is turned inwards. In cognitive neurosciences, on the other hand, the generally accepted approach holds that dream formation is a direct result of neural activations in the absence of perception, and dreaming is often equated with “delusions.” Problem: Can enactivism and phenomenology account (...)

A Pervasive Approach to EEG-Based Depression Detection.Hanshu Cai, Jiashuo Han, Yunfei Chen, Xiaocong Sha, Ziyang Wang, Bin Hu, Jing Yang, Lei Feng, Zhijie Ding, Yiqiang Chen & Jürg Gutknecht - 2018 - Complexity 2018:1-13.
Nowadays, depression is the world’s major health concern and economic burden worldwide. However, due to the limitations of current methods for depression diagnosis, a pervasive and objective approach is essential. In the present study, a psychophysiological database, containing 213 subjects, was constructed. The electroencephalogram signals of all participants under resting state and sound stimulation were collected using a pervasive prefrontal-lobe three-electrode EEG system at Fp1, Fp2, and Fpz electrode sites. After denoising using the Finite Impulse Response filter combining the Kalman (...)

How Entrepreneurship Education at Universities Influences Entrepreneurial Intention: Mediating Effect Based on Entrepreneurial Competence.Yijun Lv, Yingying Chen, Yimin Sha, Jing Wang, Lanyijie An, Tingjun Chen, Xiang Huang, Yangjie Huang & Leilei Huang - 2021 - Frontiers in Psychology 12.
Research shows that entrepreneurial activities significantly promote economic development, which enhances the importance of the innovative entrepreneurial potential of college students. This study analyzes the effect of entrepreneurship education on entrepreneurial intention from the perspective of planned behavior theory. By examining the significant role of entrepreneurship education at colleges and universities on economic and social development, we established a conceptual model. To understand the relationship between entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurial intention, the hypotheses propose the intermediary role of entrepreneurial ability, and (...)

Contribution of “Abolishment of Serf System” in Tibet to Human Rights Campaign ---- In Memory of the Fiftieth Anniversary of Democratic Reform in Tibet.Li Sha - 2009 - Asian Culture and History 1 (2):P45.
In 1959, the Chinese government conducted a democratic reform in Tibet, and thoroughly abolished feudal serf system. Feudal serf system in Tibet before that time was dark and ferocious, vandalizing “human character, personality, human rights and humanity”, seriously obstructing overall progress of the Tibetan society, and isolating Tibet from the modern civilized world. The fact in Tibet that “millions of serfs acquired freedom and liberation, and thence became human in its actual meaning” was in line with the goal of human (...)
