  1. Glimpses of the British Raj through a Poetic Lens.Yousuf Dadoo - 2002 - Philosophia: International Journal of Philosophy (Philippine e-journal) 31 (2).
British rule over India has been all-pervasive after 1857. This article investigates the response of the Urdu poet, Akbar Ilahabadi, to it. His poetry focuses primarily on philosophical themes like politics, religion, modernity, and women's status and uses a great deal of wit, humor, satire, and parody. This lays down the foundation for a very unique style which has fascinated many literary critics over the past century and has evoked varied responses. In his case, this approach has conveyed some very (...)

A Hidden Chaotic Attractor with an Independent Amplitude-Frequency Controller.Yousuf Islam, Chunbiao Li, Yicheng Jiang, Xu Ma & Akif Akgul - 2022 - Complexity 2022:1-11.
In this paper, a three-dimensional chaotic system with a line equilibrium is studied, in which a single nonbifurcation parameter is used to control the amplitude and frequency. A variety of chaotic signals can be modified using the amplitude-frequency control switch. The realization of circuit simulation based on multisim further verifies the theoretical analysis. Finally, the method for encrypting color images is tested, and the process performance is valued. It shows that the novel chaotic oscillation has a promising application prospect in (...)

Understanding Suicide Attack: Weapon of the Weak or Crime Against Humanity?Ali Md Yousuf - 2011 - Journal for the Study of Religions and Ideologies 10 (30):236-257.
800x600 Normal 0 21 false false false RO X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Suicide attack has become a dangerous trend in the contemporary history of some Asian societies. While it has been used by some people as a means of protest, it has been largely rejected by humanity for its severe debilitating effects. Instances of suicide attack can be found in the contexts of the Israel-Palestine conflict, September 11 attacks, Bali bombing, Sunni-Shiite disagreement, struggle of the Tamil Tigers in Sri Lanka, as (...)

Teaching and Assessing Learning About Virtue: Insights and Challenges From a Redesigned Journalism Ethics Class.David A. Craig & Mohammad Yousuf - 2018 - Journal of Media Ethics 33 (4):181-197.
ABSTRACTVirtue ethics, a topic of growing interest in media ethics and philosophy more broadly, poses challenges for classroom instruction because it is rooted in long-term development of character. This article explores approaches for incorporating virtue into media ethics instruction and assessing associated student learning, based on an analysis of how students in a journalism ethics class demonstrated their understanding and application of virtues through activities tailored to virtue ethics. The analysis, in addition to suggesting the value of assignments such as (...)

Yousuf Zafar, Kelly Westbrook, Karena Leo, Katherine Ramos, Danielle M. Weber & Laura S. Porter - 2022 - Frontiers in Psychology 12:769407.
Cancer and its treatment pose challenges that affect not only patients but also their significant others, including intimate partners. Accumulating evidence suggests that couples’ ability to communicate effectively plays a major role in the psychological adjustment of both individuals and the quality of their relationship. Two key conceptual models have been proposed to account for how couple communication impacts psychological and relationship adjustment: the social-cognitive processing (SCP) model and the relationship intimacy (RI) model. These models posit different mechanisms and outcomes, (...)
