Com a evolução da tecnologia, é cada vez mais comum encontrar robôs de conversação com maior capacidade de argumentar em um diálogo. Embora estejam muito longe de se igualarem a seres humanos nesse quesito, há vários desses robôs com performances significativas ao realizar essa tarefa. Nesse sentido, este estudo tem por objetivo discutir basicamente o conceito de ethos em máquinas que simulam personalidades humanas pré-determinadas. O estudo baseia-se em consulta bibliográfica interdisciplinar voltada às áreas de Linguística, Discurso, Retórica, Processamento de (...) Linguagem Natural, Inteligência Artificial e Processamento de Dados. A observação dos exemplos utilizados para comparação sugere que mais pesquisas na mesma direção devem ser realizadas, tendo em vista que a evolução dessas máquinas é exponencial e constante. Humanism in nursing: the emergence of the lightThis paper examines Western nursing practices by focusing on their spiritual aspect. The transformation of the informal and poorly trained nurse into the trained and uniform persona of the modern nurse is the subject of many nursing histories and part of nursing mythology. Using the work of Michel Foucault and Marcel Mauss, the nursing that preceded the 19th century reformers is re‐examined and continuities between current and quite ancient practices of nursing are explored. (...) The development of practices or technologies for care of the sick originated with the establishment of hospitals in the 4th century as part of pious Christian practice. Current practices of care and the discourse of holistic nursing are argued to have grown from these traditional Christian technologies of care. Humanist or holistic nursing represents the enshrinement of the Christian edios – freed of doctrine; the discourse of caring a redrafted Christian discipline of love. (shrink)

Esta resenha nasceu da constatao de que a obra Mi Concepcin del Mundo, uma seleo de textos filosficos de autoria de Erwin Schrdinger, laureado com o prmio Nobel de Fsica de 1933, no possui, ainda, edio em lngua portuguesa, no obstante sua extrema relevncia terica para a pesquisa acadmica. Nela Schrdinger reflete sobre a ontologia vdica como o fundamento metafsico de sua filosofia da natureza.This review was born from my observation that the work Mi Concepcin del Mundo, a selection of (...) philosophical texts written by Erwin Schrdinger, Nobel laureate in Physics in 1933, has no portuguese edition, despite its extreme relevance to theoretical academic research. In that book the author reflects on the Vedic ontology as metaphysical foundation of his philosophy of nature. (shrink)
