James C. Cason, a career foreign service officer with extensive experience in Latin America, has been chief of mission at the United States Interests Section in Havana, Cuba, since September 10, 2002. Prior to assumun his duties in Havana, he worked in the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs as director of policy, planning and coordination.
