Abstract

This volume, the third in a series, consists of a collection of essays written by the author over a period of almost 20 years. As such, it offers an elaborate perspective of the development of Pad's thought. To speak of this volume as a “collection,” however, is inappropriate since there is a fundamental unity of purpose throughout, a set of basic motives that pull together a number of different fields ranging from poetry, theater, and architecture, (the themes of the first part), to the platonic and hegelian dialectic, (the themes of the second part). The main thesis consists of pointing out the structural parallelism between the main features of the first part (art), and those of the second part (philosophy).
