Quick dramatic changes at all levels of social reality significantly affect the theoretical discourse of modern sociology, defined mainstreaming procedural issues, dynamics and multiplicity vectors changing society. Sociological Theory determined plurality of theoretical approaches to the study of social change, but they are still rather unexplored space than a grand construct structured theories and concepts. Very relevant topic is the problem of institutional change, as this aspect is considered as meso transformation processes. It is difficult to name at least one social institution in which no major changes would have occurred as a result of post­Soviet transformation of Ukrainian society. The natural order of institutional changes in the period of independence Ukraine largely determined the contradictions and difficulties of Ukrainian society, and which are perceived today. Formal legalization of democratic and market institutions are not reinforced by their legitimation long time in the mass and elite consciousness. The ontological aspect of the problem situation represented in numerous works devoted to the study of transformational change post­Soviet space. However, the problem dealing theoretical understanding of the concept of «institutional change» for further empirical fixation difficult transformational change social institutions.
