The Lawn Mowing Puzzle
Serena has 8 lawns to mow, and one lawnmower, which means that she mows lawns one-by-one. Unfortunately, Serena is terrified of the number 7, and so she desperately wants to have 6 lawns remaining without ever having had 7 lawns remaining. Can Serena accomplish this feat? That is, can she get from 8 to 6 lawns remaining without ever going through 7 lawns? If so, how? If not, is there a proof that she cannot?
