Abstract

This paper has two aims: to reconstruct Riehl’s concept of history and to establish conditions of a reflected concept of history in order to critically assess Riehl’s understanding of history. The result may be somewhat surprising given that scholars have not really looked into how the concept of history played a significant role in Riehl’s work, or how remarkably close Riehl was to Hegel.
