Kim Hill and Magdalena Hurtado collaborate in research on the evolutionary ecology of human reproductive strategies, sexual division of labor, life history, and resource acquisition strategies. They have worked among the Ache of Paraguay and Hiwi of Venezuela, as well as Machiguenga and Yora natives of Peru. Their monograph, Ache Life History: The Ecology and Demography of a Foraging People, was published by Aldine de Gruyter in 1996.
