This is the only book in English that provides a complete history of the Mexican Revolution, from the struggle against the dictator Porfirio Díaz before 1910 until the fall of the Institutional Revolutionary Party in the 2000 election. It not only analyzes this Revolution, which has had many spin-offs throughout Latin America, it also discusses a new silent revolution successfully carried out by a New Class of experts, politicians, bureaucrats, etc. As in the US, a new professional class is now in power.
