A grim reaper (chasing after someone) with his scythe is a common image often associated with the concept of time regarding death. Time, in such context, is well illustrated as a linear movement of a flying arrow targeting death. It’s Deleuzian counterpart, however, shows a novel manner describing it as divergent momenta which induces generic transformation. For Deleuze, time means a byproduct of syntheses of time constructed by passive self and each temporal synthesis bears divergent possibilities. The third synthesis of time functions as the most radical form of transformation enabling an individual to experience the death of I, which means ego within. It is the third synthesis that an experience of death corresponds to. Deleuze defines the term impersonal death to delineate a morphogenetic event found in the synthesis of time, that converts one entity into a completely new one. It being ironic, hence death in life rather implies a dynamic movement of genesis unfolded in life.
