The SBCS would like to congratulate Perry Schmidt-Leukel's work Buddha Mind Christ Mind: A Christian Commentary on the Bodhicaryāvatāra, with a new translation by Ernst Steinkellner and Cynthia Peck-Kubaczek (Leuven: Peeters, 2019), as this year's recipient of the Streng Book Award. The Book Award Committee commented:

Perry Schmidt-Leukel's work Buddha-Mind, Christ Mind is directly relevant to the core work of the SBCS because of its nuanced comparison of core religious teachings, practices, and commitments, all centered in their particular historical contexts.
