Deborah M. Markley received her BS and MS degrees in Agricultural Economics from Cornell University and her PhD in Agricultural Economics from VPI & SU. Currently, she is Assistant Professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology, University of Tennessee. Her research and teaching interests are in the area of rural development, specifically the functioning of rural capital markets.
