M. Douglas Meeks is Professor of Systematic Theology and Philosophy at Eden Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri. He is author ofOrigins of the Theology of Hope (Fortress Press) and the forthcomingGod the Economist: The Doctrine of God and Political Economy. His current research is in the area of theology and economic theory. He is active in the ecumenical movement dealing with the farm crisis and land use.
