Bernard E. Rollin is Professor of Philosophy and Professor of Physiology and Biophysics, Colorado State University, where he is director of Bioethical Planning. His bookAnimal Rights and Human Morality was named an outstanding academic book of the year byChoice Magazine. He has published in a number of journals, includingMonist, Philosophy and Phenomenological Research and theJournal of the American Veterinary Medical Assn.

Stanley E. Curtis is Professor of Animal Science at the University of Illinois, where he teaches and conducts research on the ecology and ethology of farm animals. His book,Environmental Management in Animal Agriculture, was published by Iowa State University Press in 1983.

Richard H. Hiers is Professor of Religion, University of Florida. His areas of special interest include ethics, contemporary religious thought and public policy and law. Recent books includeReaders Guide to the Bible andJesus and the Future.

Roger Paden currently holds a Post Doctoral Fellowship in the Center for Applied Philosophy and Ethics in the Professions, University of Florida. His publications in such journals asPhilosophy and Social Criticism andEconomic Forum reflect his work in the philosophy of science and social criticism. His recent research has been in the area of the philosophy of the human sciences.
