Abstract

What is the present task of phenomenological reflection? A return to Husserl as a continuous re-reading of his published works and as a continuous elaboration of his manuscripts is undoubtedly the starting point of such a reflection, particularly since the many interpretations that have been given from the earlier periods of Husserl's activity (of which one of the main problems is the relationship between phenomenology and existentialism) do not seem to agree even on methodological grounds. Rereading the texts is a kind of antidote against the tendency to fit Husserl into pre-established pigeon-holes.
