Der Wald in der höfischen Literatur: Raum des Mythos und des Erzählens

  • Mireille Schnyder
From the journal Das Mittelalter

Abstract

The article indicates different aspects of „forest“ in medieval German Literature, underlining the semantics of darkness and chaotic wilderness which make the forest in these texts a place of lost sense and indescribable absence of form. As a place of contingency, of a multiplicy of possibilities, „forest“ becomes the materia out of which narratives are generated.
