Additional information

The leading ideas in this paper evolved over several years of discussion with Paul Grice and George Myro, and I would not be able to say at this point what is theirs and what is mine, — although I do know that our views especially about relational belief, are not identical. In any case, I am in their debt for their substantial assistance and encouragement, I owe thanks also to Michael Gardner, who gave generously of his time, and whose good advice assisted greatly the emergence of the present draft.
