About this book

Despite very different approaches to basic philosophical choices, Luhmann’s sociological systems theory and Nietzsche’s philosophy have convergent features. Taken together, their radical new approaches leave most philosophies and sociologies of the 19^th and 20^th centuries looking literally ancient. They may be viewed as pioneers in developing a philosophy for the 21^st century, for setting a calm path amidst the disruptions of nihilism.
