Definition

Disillusioned with a materialistically oriented modernization, globalization, and capitalistic kind of world economy, people are attracted to many forms of religion and religious sentiments. Pentecostalism is one such form of religious attraction for a new spirituality. Threatened with isolation, the evils of caste system, untouchability the down trodden people develop their own moral and spiritual life potential to survive, resist, and build new alternatives like forming their own spirituality which answers their life questions and empower them to be dignified human beings.

It is a matter of fact that people around the world, especially the weaker ones in the society, are always in quest for someone to empower them, someone to play the role of a “Messiah,” someone to play the role of a “Mother Theresa,” and someone to play the role of Babasaheb Ambedkar, and...
