Abstract

La questione delle istituzioni viene affrontata acco­gliendo gli apporti della sociologia pragmatica e delle sue analisi del­l’azione in situazione, ma an­che riprendendo il tema del dominio. Le isti­tuzioni vengono concepite co­me le condizioni necessarie per stabilire un ac­cordo tra soggetti dotati di pun­ti di vista situati e inevitabilmente diver­genti. Ma le stesse regole me­diante cui le istituzioni assicurano la possibilità dell’accordo, sono al con­tempo fonti di frammentazione, cioè di dominio: le istituzioni legittimano criteri e norme che ‘ordinano’ attra­verso l’isolamento e la separazione degli individui. I quali possono ri­spon­de­re in maniera efficace solo collet­tiva­men­te, organizzandosi in ‘classi’ e sfi­dando l’ordine co­stituito mediante spe­cifiche ‘prove’ critiche. Da questa con­cezione del dominio segue che non esiste una vera e propria ‘classe’ do­minante, poiché i ‘dominanti’ sono co­lo­ro che non han­no necessità di strut­turarsi in classe e sono uniti soltanto da legami di riconoscimento taciti.The discussion about institutions is carried out with the help of pragmatic sociology, focusing in particular on the analysis of situation, ac­tion and the topic of dominance. Institutions are regarded as neces­sary con­di­tions to reach an agreement between subjects with different and con­flicting points of view. But the rules used by the institutions to reach the agree­ment are at the same time a source of fragmentation and do­minance. Institutions allow ‘commanding’ norms and criteria which favour the iso­la­tion and se­paration of individuals. These individuals can react ef­fec­tively only in a col­lective way, organizing themselves in ‘classes’ and defying the sta­tus quo through specific forms of criticism. This conception of domi­nan­ce shows that there is no such thing as a dominant class, since dominants don’t need to build a class because they are already tied by a ta­cit ack­now­ledgment
