Abstract
In today's world, the importance of natural resources in economic and social development has increased even more. In this study, the importance of women in the context of natural resources management and gender factor is examined. The way women use natural resources in rural areas is directly linked to traditional gender roles. Women employ natural resources to provide food their families and then society. It is also known that women are more and differently affected by the degradation or depletion of natural resources than men. However women's point of view differ from men's, it is clear that this issue disregarded in researches on natural resources and ecosystem services. In this context, it is necessary to examine the gender dimension and determine the criteria in researches on natural resources and ecosystem services. This study, in which secondary sources are used, examine interactions between women and natural resources in rural area, sustainable natural resources management, protection and development of resources emphasizes the role and responsibilities of women to be evaluated in the context of ethics.
