Abstract

A más de veinticinco años de la recuperación democrática en Argentina, este artículo de carácter historiográfico es propuesto como un estado de la cuestión que dé cuenta de los avatares por los que atravesó el Partido Justicialista entre 1983 y 2001. Mediante una selección de la bibliografía producida -primero por sociólogos y politólogos, más tarde por historiadores y antropólogos- procura recorrer los problemas y procesos centrales que atravesaron a la rama política del Movimiento Nacional Justicialista a lo largo de ese período y merecieron una atención preferencial por parte de los cientistas sociales. De allí que haya sido articulado en torno a cuestiones tales como la experiencia renovadora de mediados de la década de los '80, el menemismo y la organización partidaria en el largo plazo. También repara en investigaciones realizadas a escala provincial y aun local, algunas ya cerradas, otras en curso, que ofrecen nuevos matices a una cuestión que hasta hace pocos años era tratada preferentemente en el orden nacional. This article explores the deep renovation in the ideological-cultural field that accompanies the return to democracy in the country, as well as the processes that bring about the formation of a new "cultural atmosphere". Besides, through the conceptual and methodological news in the field, it analyses the production that aims at revisiting Peronism at that time. In so doing, it attempts to tackle the continuity of the lines of the debate that started in previous decades, as well as a whole new line that at the beginning of the 80s began with the analyses of the "cultural battle" between politicians and intellectuals brought about by Peronism after its first decline. The magnetism of Peronism over the historiographical field in the 60s and 70s acquires a renewed vigour in the 80s, due to the political and ideological disputes and controversies in the interior of this political tradition in the period of the democratic transition. This new production is undoubtedly a fundamental chapter in the historiography of Peronism, which continues in the following decades and inspires new readings.
